Crazy Thing Called Love - Ali Parker Page 0,53

afraid I’d scare him off. Luckily, Roman and Ginny had talked me into it. I’d have to thank them later.

That was something to look forward to.

Not.

Neither Roman nor Ginny were humble people. They’d be squealing “I told you so” in a matter of seconds.

That doesn’t matter. The point is you’re here with Peter. And that’s what you want.

I hid my smile from him as I fished our room key out of the holder we’d been given down in the lobby when we checked in. Inside the folder, they’d tucked the wedding itinerary with a schedule of events. Tonight at eight o’clock, there was a meet and mingle down at the pool bar which had been booked exclusively for wedding guests. My brother would be there among all our other mutual friends and I was eager to see them all and introduce them to Peter.

But first I wanted to check out our digs for the weekend.

I shouldered the door open. Peter came in behind me with our bags, and we stopped in the entranceway to soak in the sight of the bright, airy, beachy room. Sheer white curtains let the sunlight stream in. I could see the sun reflecting off the ocean through the light material. The floors were a cool gray stone and the furniture was minimal, a king-sized bed all in white sheets and pillows, a white sofa with a gold-trimmed glass coffee table, a coffee and wine bar, a dresser, and a sleek TV at the end of the bed.

Peter let the bags fall from his shoulder and whistled. “Damn, this is nice.”

The windowsills and frames were done in matte black paint which lent the room a modern feel. The contrast was elegant and sophisticated and I pushed through the curtains to open the patio doors and step outside onto our private balcony. We had our own small plunge pool and a great view of the ocean and beach. To the right was the rest of the resort. We could see the main pool from our balcony and I spotted the bar where we would be meeting up with everyone in a few hours.

Peter came and joined me outside. He stopped behind me and put a hand on either side of me, bracing himself against the railing and caging me in. “I’ve never stayed somewhere this nice.”

I craned my neck to look back at him. “It is beautiful, isn’t it?”

My initial impression that it couldn’t compete with the El Cartana might have been incorrect. Now that I could see the view and I’d seen the rooms and the décor, I felt they were equal rivals with their own unique flair.

“Are you hungry?” I asked as I leaned forward to rest my elbows on the railing. “We probably have time to hit a restaurant before we make our way down to the bar to meet the others. What did the lady in the lobby say when we checked in? They have a steakhouse and Italian pasta a la carte.”

Peter gripped my hips and pulled my ass against him. “I’ve been thinking about eating all damn day, but I didn’t have my heart set on Italian or steak.”

“You love steak,” I said, rolling my hips a little bit for him.

He chuckled deep in his chest. “I do, but I’m craving something else.”

I bit my bottom lip. “Something like what?”

Peter ran his hand up the back of my thigh, squeezed my ass, and slid his hand up under the skirt of my dress. I giggled and tried to get away from him, but he held fast and kept me pinned between him and the railing.

“Where are you trying to go?” he breathed against my ear.

His voice and the heat of his breath made my knees weak. “Nowhere.”

He kissed my cheek and my neck until he reached my shoulder. He nudged the strap of my dress down while his hand under my skirt pulled my panties to the side. “That’s the right answer. Spread your legs.”

I spread my legs.

Peter ran his fingers over my pussy. I’d been wet the second I felt the heat of his body against mine. All thoughts of the wedding and introducing him to my friends melted away as I stared out at the sun, which was beginning to dip low on the horizon and paint the sky pink and purple.

“People might be able to see us,” I whispered.

“Nonsense. Our balcony is private.” He slipped a finger inside me.

I gripped the railing. “No balcony is that private.”

“Do you
