Crave Thy Neighbor (Roommate Romps #3) - Teagan Hunter Page 0,74

Holland, moved into the building two weeks ago, and whoever she’s rooming with…well, let’s just say they are not friends. I don’t even live here and I’ve heard the gossiping and complaining about them always fighting.

I slip my key into the lock and push inside.

“Hey!”

“FUCK!” I scream, clutching my chest and falling back against the door.

“We can, but after dinner. I’m starving.”

“What the hell, Nolan?!” My chest heaves as I gulp in air. “You scared the shit out of me!”

He shrugs. “Told you I’d be home in a bit.”

I push off the door with a sigh. “I didn’t expect you to be home that soon.”

“Surprise?”

I glare at him and he laughs, crossing the apartment to me. He doesn’t stop until I’m pressed up against the door. On instinct, my hands curl around his neck, and my legs go around his waist when he slides his hands over my ass.

I giggle as he buries his face in my neck, kissing and nipping at me until he reaches my lips. He takes my mouth in a heated kiss until I’m writhing against him, dying for a release.

Then he relents, making his way back down to that spot I love.

“Well, hello to you, too,” I say.

He pulls back, grinning at me. “I missed you.”

“Yeah?”

He nods. “Just a little bit.”

I swivel my hips, feeling his very obvious erection brushing against me. “It doesn’t feel like a little bit.”

He lifts his brows. “So you want to play that game, huh?” He drives into me, and my eyes roll back in my head. “I win.”

I shake my head. “You don’t play fair.”

“You love it.”

“I love you.”

He sighs. “Say that again.”

I grin. Over the last few months, Nolan hasn’t shied away from showing me his affection at all. Sometimes I swear he enjoys hearing the words I love you more than I do.

“I love you,” I whisper, brushing my lips across his.

He smiles against me. “I love you too. You hungry?”

I swivel my hips again. “Starving.”

He laughs, setting me back down on the floor. “I meant for pizza.”

“But I thought you were bringing the meat?”

“Always, but dinner first. There’s actually something I want to talk to you about.”

Just like that, I’m reminded I have to tell him about the pregnancy scare.

I won’t lie—I’m a bit nervous. We’ve been doing so well together these last six months, and I don’t want to do anything to rock that boat.

He chuckles and uses his thumb to pluck my bottom lip from between my teeth. I hadn’t even realized I was biting it. “Stop looking so worried. It’s a good talk…I hope.”

“Yes, because tacking on I hope makes it so much better.”

He smacks my ass. “Come on. Let’s go eat.”

I toe off my shoes and follow him into the kitchen.

He puts two slices of pizza on my plate and loads his own up with four, then grabs a bottle of ranch from the fridge because he’s not a savage.

We sit side by side at the bar top and tuck into our meal.

I’m about done with my first slice when I can’t take the silence anymore.

“I need to talk to you too.”

He freezes, a slice of pizza halfway to his mouth. “Are you breaking up with me?”

“What?” I shriek. “No! No way!”

He wipes his forehead with the back of his hand. “Phew.”

“But…I, uh, took some pregnancy tests today.”

“Oh god.”

He pales, and I laugh.

“They were negative.”

He visibly relaxes. “Thank fuck.” He drops his pizza to his plate, turning to me. He spins me toward him, reaching for my hands. “I mean, if you were, I swear I’d be happy with that too.”

Tears spring to my eyes at his words. “You would?”

His brows crush together. “Of course I would. I love you, Maya.”

“I know you do, but I also know you don’t want children.”

“I have a child.”

Warmth spreads through me.

Sam.

Nolan’s love for my son knows no bounds, and it makes me so fucking happy. There is never a moment I doubt how he feels.

When Nolan and I started dating, he sat down with Patrick to have a conversation about what his role in Sam’s life would be. He didn’t want to step on his toes but wanted to be there for Sam as a second father figure.

I swear, I fell even more in love with him at that moment.

“But this would be different.”

He nods. “It would be. And, okay, at first I probably wouldn’t be too excited about the idea. But I’d love the baby no matter what and would take care of him
