now, get home. We’ll stay in touch.”

“Thanks. Love you.”

“Love you too,” I replied.

I ended the call and then faced Jamison, who was frowning. “You love Alan?” I detected regret in his tone.

I chuckled and rolled my eyes. “You mean Alana, my assistant?” I explained the weather conditions to him and how I’d been expecting Alana and Alex that night.

“Then you’ll be alone tonight?” he asked.

My mouth opened, but nothing came out, because my brain was experiencing a traffic jam. I wanted to say yes or maybe no. Fortunately, Brent arrived at our table with our entrées. My plate hit the table, and I wasted no time plopping a hot, crispy, delicious truffle fry into my mouth. After one went in, then went another and another. Brent poured more wine for me and Jamison. I bit into the sweet bun with tasty cheese, sautéed onions, and savory meat. My body became more satiated with each bite.

“Then you were hungry?” Jamison asked.

I paused and paid attention to myself. My posture was slumped, and I’d been tearing into my food like a lion with a fresh kill. Laughing, I sat up straight. “Yeah, I was.” I took another bite of burger.

He watched me with an adoring smile. My heart, mind, and sex loved the way he looked at me. “Remember the dinner at your brother’s house?”

I nodded, putting another fry into my mouth.

“The food was good,” he said.

“Yep.”

“You enjoyed it.”

“I did.”

“It was so damn sexy.”

I stopped midchew. Our gazes penetrated each other. There was no doubt about it—we’d gotten to the point of no return.

Jamison tapped on the table and then abruptly leaned toward me. “I didn’t get a room because you have a two-bedroom suite,” he whispered, his gaze penetrating me.

I cleared my throat, smirking. “Poor Kara at the front desk. She didn’t even know what hit her.”

Jamison chuckled. “I’m just a man who knows how to get the information I need.”

I narrowed my eyes seductively. “And what you want?”

His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed. “Bryn?” He sounded out of breath.

I leaned toward him. “Jamison?”

“How about we take all of this to go?”

The stillness and silence between us reigned. My pussy throbbed, and my nipples stiffened, both responses making me squirm in my chair. If we let our guard down and got it on, I would be choosing to bed Jamison despite his father and my brothers.

My head felt as if it was floating to the ceiling when I made my final decision. “And you don’t have a girlfriend or anything?”

His focus on me remained steady, deep. “No, beautiful. Not yet.”

Chapter Eight

Bryn Christmas

Brent arranged to have room service bring our dinner and another bottle of wine to my suite. Being the perfect gentleman that he was, Jamison carried my briefcase and slung my purse over his shoulder as we walked to the elevator. I’d never had a guy carry my purse. The very small, considerate gesture made me feel taken care of in a gentler way. My heart loved it. I liked him. I could no longer ignore that fact.

With Jamison standing so close to my backside, I could feel the heat coming off him. He reached around me to push the elevator button. The doors opened, and my head maintained the wooziness as, with his strong fingers cradling my waist, we stepped inside.

“The sixth floor?” he asked, his breath warming the back of my neck and his voice thickened by lust.

I swallowed. Unable to speak, I nodded. My body remained caught in suspense as I kept my eyes on the floor. I heard Jamison pressing the button and the briefcase hitting the linoleum. His hands seized my hips and guided me against all the firm parts of him. I stifled a gasp, tossing my head back against his broad chest. All my defenses and inhibitions were so distant it was as if they’d never existed.

“Yeah, dude, that was gnarly,” a guy said followed by the sound of the doors reopening.

Regaining a little bit of my willpower, I turned to face Jamison. Our melded gazes didn’t allow me to be cordial to our new arrivals. The longer I looked at Jamison, the more euphoric I felt. Then he trailed a finger down the side of my face. I closed my eyes and tilted my head back to drink in the sensations.

“Yeah, the powder is pristine.” I could hear the nervousness in the second voice.

“Right… yeah.” The first guy sounded just as anxious.

Unfortunately, they’d walked in on a heated moment that couldn’t
