Come Hot (Club Silken #2) - Jerrie Alexander Page 0,57

He slides the three-row diamond choker around my neck and secures it. His warm lips touch my cheek. “I love you.”

I spin in his arms, stand on my tiptoes and pepper his face with kisses. “I love it, but . . .”

“But what?” His eyebrows dip into a frown.

“I’ll never love anything as much as I love you.”

Epilogue

One year later

Nick drives up the circular driveway and parks in front of a gray, two-story, brick mansion with tons of tall windows. The yard is huge and green, with trees and flowers beautifully placed by someone much more talented than me.

“Who lives here?” I know Morgan and Zack have been looking to buy a house in this area.

As always, Nick gets out and comes around to assist me. “I want you to look around and give me your opinion.”

“This is country living but still inside the city. Did Morgan decide on this house?”

“Not this one.”

My imagination takes off and my heart starts to pound. “Then why are we here?”

He unlocks the door, takes my hand and I follow him inside. I stop in the foyer and spin in circles, trying to take in everything I see. I’m standing on marble floors in an expansive grand entry with tall ceilings and a curved staircase. The windows I saw from the outside are even taller than I thought.

Nick doesn’t answer my question. He’s standing next to me with a half-smile and eyes that are sparkling and full of mischief.

“Why are we here?” I ask again.

“You’ve worn my collar for a year. Don’t you think it’s time to add this?” Nick takes a small box from his pocket and opens it. “That is, if you’ll have me forever.”

Time moves in slow motion. I know what he said, and my secret wish has been that we’ll become permanent, but we’ve never discussed taking our relationship any farther. In the past, he’s plainly stated he didn’t believe in marriage. I’ve been afraid to hope he’d change his mind.

He tenderly wipes tears from my face with his thumbs. When did I start crying so easily?

“I didn’t mean to upset you.” His expression has shifted from mischief to confusion. “Talk to me. No secrets.”

“I don’t want you to think you have to do this. You don’t believe in marriage.”

“I was wrong.” He grins and drops to one knee. “I love you more than life itself and want us to be together as man and wife for life. Will you marry me?”

“Yes.” I throw myself into his arms on the marble floor, causing us both to tumble onto our sides. It doesn’t stop me from peppering his face with kisses.

He chuckles against my lips and pulls me on top of him. “My first inclination is to fuck you right here on the floor.”

I rub against him and feel him start to harden under me. “And?”

“I have a better idea.” He helps me stand, picks up the small box off the floor, and removes the ring. “Give me your hand.”

Tears form again as he slides it on my finger. The huge solitaire diamond sparkles as I rotate my hand. “Nick, it’s beautiful but it’s too expensive.”

“Nothing is ‘too expensive’ when it comes to you. I guess you think this house is too.”

“Duh.”

“Too bad.” He leads me up the staircase, down a long hallway, pointing out each room as we walk past. “You can hire an interior designer or select the furniture yourself. It’s yours.”

“Nick,” I protest. “You can’t mean that.”

“Okay. It’s ours.” We continue walking down the hall and stop in front of a closed door. “This is the only furnished room in the house.”

He opens the door and lets me walk in ahead of him. What I see is a Dom/sub paradise. “Oh my God.” I move slowly around the pale-gray walls to a red padded table, an oversized, four-poster bed with a snow-white bedspread, and two chairs that match a dark gray couch. I can’t count the number of mirrors. Dark cabinets line the back wall except for another door, which I open and discover a bathroom. I glance at the ceiling and find the same layout of restraints we use at Club Silken.

“There’s more.” He pushes a button and the cabinet doors slide back, revealing a refrigerator, a mini bar, and a lot of drawers. “Our toys plus a few we haven’t tried yet are ready and waiting.”

“I love it, Sir.” I walk to him, kneel, and present myself to him. Eyes down, knees spread, and arms behind
