“What?” I choke out, stunned and fighting to keep my emotions under control as my mind spins with this new information.

“He had to die, sweet girl. There was no other way.” He squeezes my right breast while biting the other.

“Laporte? You mean Joshua? You didn’t kill him, did you?” I sputter, the last question leaving me in a harsh whisper. It’s not possible…. Is it?

“Yes, Joshua, and no, I didn’t kill him per se.” He smirks up at me like we’re sharing an inside joke, and I want to vomit. “Only fools dirty their own hands in order to get what they need. Real men have the ability to make things happen for them, getting what they need and want. I want you. I need you. He was in my way. I refused to watch him with you for another second. He’s so detached, and the coldness I see in his eyes freezes my blood immediately, rendering what’s left of my heart useless.

“Why? How?” I want to beg him to continue, but I’m unable to form a complete sentence. I am trembling from head to toe, shaken to my core. I knew he was evil, but he has gone to such lengths to destroy those I love. For what? This can’t be all about an infatuation with me, could it? OMG, what about…“Puckett?”

“For us, obviously. Anything to get you here with me now. None of them were worthy anyways, not like I am. As for Puckett? He deserved everything he got. I made an exception for that pervert and killed him myself. Screamed like a bitch until I cut out his fucking tongue. Then, he just gurgled.” He laughs, leaning down, kissing me hard, and suddenly forcing his index finger inside me. I gasp, unable to hide my reaction to the pain. “Relax, sweet girl. I’m going to make you feel good. Here, I’ll turn on some music.” He reaches for the table and his eyes narrow. Oh God, no. “Where the fuck is my phone?”

“What phone?” I sit up, attempting to distract him with a kiss, knowing that the guys won’t be much longer. Someone has to be close by now. He’s been talking forever. Bragging really.

Richard shoves me to the side and searches around the table, easily noticing the illuminated screen, then lifts the phone from the floor with a ‘tsk.’ Looking down at the cell, he quickly sits back down on the bed and grabs me by the hair, roughly pulling me into his lap. Hissing into my ear, he promises, “Big mistake, sweet girl. I’m going to enjoy killing Abel right in front of you.” Then, he raises the phone to his head, speaking in a casual voice. “Jaxxson? How are you, dear boy? ...Such language… Yes, she’s here… No, she’s busy right now… Oh yeah? Such big threats for such a small man, Jaxxson… Tell me, son, how does it feel knowing that your incompetence made her such an easy target? That you will get to listen to her screams, helpless on the other side of the phone, knowing you could have stopped me, but instead your failure has guaranteed you will never get her back.” He laughs, setting down the phone without ending the call. “Extra loud so he can hear you, sweet girl.”

Biting my shoulder viciously, he forcefully shoves three fingers in me, laughing when I fail to hold in my scream at the dry intrusion and enjoying my attempts to wiggle out of his tight hold.

“Looks like our first time will be memorable,” he says, tossing me onto the bed and quickly pulling off his pants as I crawl across the bed. As I reach the edge, he grabs my leg, yanking me back to him.
