In fact, my phone buzzed before the message even finished hitting his screen. I pulled it out and saw it was a request from Archie for a dinner date on Wednesday with him and his grandfather.

I grinned.

Coop bumped my shoulder as he clicked off his screen and tucked his phone away while I answered Archie. He gathered up my stack of books and raised his eyebrows at the BDSM for Dummies. I shrugged my shoulders a little, trying and failing to not blush.

“Coop,” I scolded him outside of the store. The weather had turned colder while we were inside, and the clouds had darkened.

“Frankie,” he mimicked my exasperated tone. Then his expression softened. “I wanted to buy them for you because I intend to enjoy testing them out on you tonight.”

“Still standing right here,” Rachel said, and I glanced over to where she leaned against the car, arm resting on the top of it.

“Still don’t care,” Coop answered without looking away from me. “I promise if either of us don’t like it, we’ll come back and get a different set to try.”

I rubbed a hand over my face. “Fine…but do me one favor?”

He just mimed zipping his lips and throwing away the key. “What they don’t know, I get to enjoy all by myself.”
