Beautiful Savage - Caroline Peckham Page 0,87

the breakfast bar. She hadn’t told me much aside from assuring me that she didn’t think Winter would have too much major long term damage physically aside from the superficial scarring.

“I’m going to write her up a prescription for some ointment to help with the scarring, but she’d really need to see a plastic surgeon if she wants to try and remove some of them permanently,” the doctor hedged. “I could offer her a mild sedative too, if she needs them for nightmares or anything like that. You should watch out for signs of PTSD or-”

“I will,” I said, not needing her to read me a list. Winter was taking her time and I wondered if she was exploring her new wardrobe some more. I didn’t really want the doctor hanging around much longer and I wondered how she’d take it if I just told her to do her paperwork back at her office.

“I actually need to gather a specimen from you while I’m here,” she said before I could voice the words.

“Me?” I asked in confusion. “What for?”

Winter walked into the room before I got my answer and my eyes caught on her as I found her in that clingy white dress.

Now I really want this woman to leave.

“I assumed you were aware...” Dr Greene said hesitantly, drawing closer to me with a cotton swab on the end of a stick clutched in her hand. “Your father requested a DNA sample...” She trailed off as I gave her a dark look. Martello Romero wasn’t my father. Even if I was willing to accept my brothers into my life, I couldn’t imagine having a relationship with that man. But I guessed I wanted a definitive answer too. Clear cut confirmation of my real identity to...well, I guessed just to put any lingering doubts I still had to bed.

“Get it over with then,” I muttered, parting my lips and allowing her to scrape two cheek swabs around my mouth before sealing them up in a plastic tube.

“I’ll be in touch when the results come back,” she said, gathering up the rest of her things and exchanging a few pleasantries with Winter before finally leaving us alone.

I watched hungrily as my girl came to sit with me, her gaze slipping between me and the food I’d prepared us like she couldn’t decide which to devour first.

“Eat, baby doll,” I commanded, despite the way my gaze clung to the movement of that white material over her thighs and the way my dick was swelling in my pants. “You’ll need your stamina for what I have in mind anyway.”

Winter giggled like I was joking and I gave her a heated look which promised I wasn’t. I was seriously tempted to pounce on her then and there, but she was still the wrong side of too thin and she needed the calories more than she needed sex right now, no matter how much I wished she didn’t.

We ate in silence, my gaze fixed to her mouth as she devoured the sandwiches I’d made her before starting on a packet of Doritos. I could tell she wasn’t done so I headed to the freezer and dug around in Frankie’s supplies until I found a tub of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream lurking in the back.

Winter’s eyes widened as I scooped a spoon into it and held it out for her to eat. She moaned lustily as she devoured it, her tongue drawing a line around her lips as she chased down every last bit of it before opening her mouth again and waiting for more.

I smiled at her as I offered up the spoon again and she closed her lips around it seductively, her gaze boring into mine with a wicked kind of dare in her eyes.

“Are you hungry for something else yet?” I asked her in a low voice, feeding her again as my pulse pounded and my desire for her grew.

As she took her next mouthful of ice cream, she nodded slowly, her gaze staying pinned on me like she wondered what I might do and couldn’t wait to find out.

I got to my feet, abandoning the ice cream on the table and tossing the spoon down as she licked her lips again. I rounded the table slowly and caught her chair in my grip, tugging it out and turning her to face me in it. I gripped the wooden arms either side of the chair and lifted them, rocking the whole thing back
