sliding off my lap.

“No, not at all. But I don’t fucking care. You are mine and only mine. You understand me? Don’t let her get her claws into you.”

Mae’s eyes widened. “What are you talking about? Does she want…what…”

“It won’t be the last time that I see her. If you’re with me, please know that you’re mine.”

“Okay,” Mae whispered, her eyes darting back and forth.

I placed a soft peck on her lips. “Don’t be scared. She wants me. Not you.” No matter what Morgan said, I knew she was only trying to get under my skin. No matter how much I tried to deny it, it was fucking working.

Me: Join me, beautiful girl.

Mae: Are you texting me from the living room?

Me: No, I’m texting you from the bathroom.

Mae: What are you doing?

Me: Taking a bath.

Mae: Were you wanting something, Sir?

Me: Always.

The door opened, revealing a smiling Mae. Her dark hair was mussed, curls framing her face. Creases from the bed marked her body, her eyes hazy from sleep. “You do realize what time it is right?”

I chuckled, placing my phone on the floor. “Come here.”

She sighed, stepping into the bathtub and curled against me. “How did you sleep?”

“I didn’t,” I mumbled, grabbing a washcloth.

“Why don’t you take sleeping pills?” she asked, yawning.

“Because they only make my nightmares worse.” I kissed her head, running the cloth up and down her arm.

“Do you sleep ever?”

“Sometimes. I’m used to it now though.”

She nodded. “I don’t sleep often either. But since being with you, my nights are less scary. I don’t wake and jump at the shadows in the corner of the room. I don’t cower under the covers like a little girl, afraid the Boogey Man is going to jump out at me.” She turned to me. “You make me feel brave.”

“I don’t know how to be in a normal relationship,” I confessed.

“That’s okay.” She smiled. “Neither do I.”

“Are you sure you want me here tonight?” Mae asked, smoothing her hands down the satin dress hugging her curves nicely.

“Yes.” I kissed her neck, breathing in the scent of me on her skin and gripped her shoulders tight. “Why wouldn’t I?”

“I don’t want to embarrass you.” She turned in my arms. “I’m assuming these business associates you’re having over are doctors?”

“Not all of them.” I pinched her chin, placing a soft peck on her mouth. “And you could never embarrass me, Marketa.”

“Does this look okay?” she asked, turning back towards the mirror. The black floor length dress fit her in all the right places. Not too revealing and definitely hiding the beauty laying beneath. Only I knew what she had hidden under the fabric. Her smooth skin. Her pale form that now smelled of me constantly.

“It looks perfect.” I cleared my throat, holding back the urge to dive deep into her body.

“Are you sure?” She kept smoothing her hands down the front of her, her teeth grazing over her bottom lip.

“Marketa, if you keep doing that, I’m going to bend you over and show you exactly what I think,” I snapped out, shaking myself.

Her eyes widened before going dark, her cheeks giving off a slight tinge of pink. She stepped into my embrace, running her hands down my chest. “Why don’t you show me then?”

I breathed in the sweet desire of her words, backing her up until she hit the wall. Grabbing her hands, I pulled them above her head, holding her in place. “You want me?”

“I want you hard. Full and throbbing inside of me.” She licked her bottom lip, arching against me.

Hmm…little girl wanted to play. “What did I tell you?”

“Not to wear any panties.”

Brushing a finger down the center of her body, I hooked a hand at the back of her thigh, grinding my hips into hers. “Did you listen?”

“Yes,” she breathed. “Always.”

When I leaned down to kiss her, the phone rang. Story of my fucking life. I released her, placing a soft peck on her forehead.

Mae whimpered, pouting. “What are you doing?”

“My phone rang.”

“No it didn’t,” she grabbed my hand. “Please.”

“You didn’t hear it?” I asked her.

“No. Just ignore it.”

Sorry, sweet girl. I can’t.” I adjusted my pants, grumbling to myself about people not knowing when to leave me alone. I answered the phone much to Mae’s dismay. “Santos.”

“Mmm…I love it when you sound all professional. Makes me so fucking wet.”

My back stiffened. “How the hell did you get this number?”

“Oh, little boy,” Morgan purred. “You think you can hide from me?”

“Matteo?” Mae placed a hand gently on my arm,
