“Among other things but especially cause you can do laundry.” I pinch her side.
She laughs again, and I take in her wide smile and tantalizing cleavage. I clear my throat and return my attention to the road, but I can tell she knew where my thoughts had shifted.
She squirms in her seat and rubs her legs together. “So where are we going?” she finally asks.
“Sacramento. We’ll get a hotel room for the night.”
“You mean we’ll sleep in a bed?”
I give her a wicked grin. “Well, I don’t know how much sleeping we’ll do.”
Her cheeks flush. “Does that mean we’re going to…”
“If you’ll let me.”
She squirms again and the aroused scent coming off her increases. “So you don’t need to work anything else out or whatever you meant this morning?”
The beast growls. He’s not happy about the choice I’ve made. I’ve been thinking about it all day during the drive, and I’ve come to a decision. I can’t claim her. It’s not an option since my life is so messed up, but I can properly fuck her.
I’ll just need to keep control of the beast so he doesn’t take over and force me to claim her.
“Yeah, I have, and I can’t wait to make you mine.”
Chapter 24 – Brianna
We arrive in Sacramento that evening, and I’m so happy to be done driving that I practically jump out. I stretch my limbs as Collin saunters to the hotel’s reception area to check us in. He’s wearing a cap and sunglasses and has cash and his fake ID ready. He said it’s to conceal our location. Even the SF can’t know our whereabouts if we use cash, fake identification, and hide our appearances behind hats and shades.
I wait by the car as a warm breeze flows across my cheeks. I’m wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses too. It was the first thing Collin insisted we buy when we stopped an hour ago to grab some supplies.
I tap my foot as I wait. We’re at one of the big chain hotels that’s sure to provide fluffy pillows, extended cable, and a mini bar. I’m ridiculously excited at the thought of spending the night here, especially after what Collin promised.
If you’ll let me…
Yes please with a cherry on top. I want him. I don’t know why I want him so badly, but I do.
I stretch my arms overhead as my restlessness grows. I’m so glad that the rope burns on my wrists have finally healed. The lump on my head is also gone, and only very faint bruises mar my neck from where Collin’s wolf bit me. By tomorrow, I imagine I’ll be one-hundred-percent.
Collin returns and gives me a key card. His fingers linger when he touches my hand. “Room 805. We should have a good view that high up.”
I pocket the key card and open the backseat to pull out the backpack and the other items we picked up. Besides the hats, Collin also insisted that we buy me sturdy shoes and a few more garments. I’d protested initially, knowing his money would be burned through in no time, but he’d insisted.
And I have a feeling that insistence goes along the lines of taking care of me. Funny how I’ve never been a woman who needed that, but now that I have it—I grin. I’d be lying to myself if I said it didn’t make me feel a little giddy.
“What’s that smile for?”
I look over the roof of the car to Collin. His arms are flexed from the bags he’s holding, and his bicep is the size of a grapefruit. Damn. He’s so freakin’ hot. “Nothing. Just happy I guess.” And as weird as that is, I realize it’s true.
He smiles and slams the door. “Are you hungry?”
“Yeah, starving actually.”
“How about we order some food and then…”
He lets his words hang, and fuck me if it doesn’t do indescribable things to my lady parts.

An hour later, we’re sprawled across the king-sized bed with ten items from room service propped on various trays around us and the beginnings of a comedy movie on TV.
Collin insisted on ordering everything that sounded tempting on the menu, and I’m starting to see the difference in how we were raised. Whereas my eyes immediately went to the price tag, his only went to the descriptions. He doesn’t care what everything costs, and says I shouldn’t either, but I can’t help but wonder how long we’ll be able to stay on the run if we blow
