Autumn Feast - Charlie Richards Page 0,6

“Because you two can’t stop staring at each other.” He winked when Kristof jerked his focus from where he and Agnoroth had been peering at each other to focus on him. “I couldn’t even go a couple of days without giving in to my need for Benji. I can’t imagine having waited for over eight months.” Waving his hand imperiously, Cory stated, “Go fuck. Bond. Have fun.” He winked. “We’ll enjoy Chinese another time.”

Growling softly, Agnoroth returned his focus to Kristof, wondering how he would take his friend’s words. His mate’s face was a dark hue, but he gamely crossed his arms over his chest and tipped his chin up, peering down his nose at Cory.

“Not like I haven’t walked out of your house a time or two when you and Benji started going at it,” Kristof commented dryly. “So don’t give me shit about staring at a hot man.”

“He’s not giving you shit, are you, Cory?” Benji quickly countered, pulling his mate toward the door. Then he turned his attention to Agnoroth. “Congratulations.”

Agnoroth tipped his head to the side as he felt his brows shoot up. “That’s it?” Upon seeing the questioning look in Benji’s eyes, he added, “You rush over here to check on Kristof, then leave just that fast?”

Benji scoffed as he nodded. “You’re mates. This is something you have to work out between yourselves.” He glanced Kristof’s way, his meaning clear, then he started him and Cory toward the door once more. “Holler if you need anything.”

“Like more lube or something!” Cory cried even as Benji closed the door behind them.

Agnoroth flipped the lock, then focused on Kristof.

Kristof shrugged. “They’re good friends.”

Nodding, Agnoroth slowly began stalking toward his mate. “It’s always good to have friends,” he purred as he swept his gaze over the man. “But I’m just as glad that they’re gone.”

Chapter Four

Kristof swallowed... hard. The lust blazing in Agnoroth’s eyes was unmistakable. He knew what the dragon shifter wanted to do. In truth, his body’s arousal urged him to do the same.

But at what cost?

“I know nothing about you,” Kristof stated on a pant while forcing his body back a step when Agnoroth advanced.

Agnoroth reached out and grabbed his hand, staying his retreat. “I will tell you anything you want to know about me,” he offered while tugging Kristof closer. “It will always be the truth.”

“How old are you?”

Geez. Why did I ask that? As if it matters.

Kristof knew dragons lived for centuries.

“I do not know my exact birthdate, but I have seen four hundred and thirty-three summers,” Agnoroth immediately replied. “I was born in what is now considered Mongolia and still have a lair in the wilds there. It is an amazing place to dance on the wind.”

Tensing, Kristof asked, “Do you expect me to move there?”

“No.” Agnoroth slid his free hand around Kristof’s back, rubbing along his spine. “Visit occasionally, but not live,” he told him, trapping Kristof’s hand against his chest.

Kristof felt the strong frame under his palm, and goose bumps erupted up his arm. His chest felt firm, and Kristof wanted to see what was hidden under the pale green polo shirt he wore. The rush of desire to tear the man’s clothes from him nearly took his breath away.

“I-I’m having a hard time concentrating,” Kristof admitted roughly, his blood rushing through his veins. “Why is that?” He shook his head, desperately trying to get his racing hormones under control. “Is it always like this?”

How had his buddy, Stefan, walked away from Kazeem for two weeks with feelings like these?

“We met over eight months ago, Kristof.” Agnoroth tipped his head and nuzzled his temple against Kristof’s own. “While we will always desire each other, that time apart has ramped up our needs. Our pull to mate is a whirlwind driving our arousal high, sweeping us away on an airy breeze.”

Agnoroth’s husky voice caused Kristof’s skin to flush, and his nipples beaded. The way his breath ghosted over his skin caused the hairs on his nape to stand on end. His body trembled as Agnoroth wrapped his second arm around him and grabbed his ass, massaging lightly.

“I know most of your friends are here,” Agnoroth rumbled as he began licking and nipping at the side of Kristof’s neck. “So if here is where you want to stay, here is where we will be.”

Kristof began to open his mouth to respond even though his brain was struggling to come up with a response.

“For a while, at least.”

Cocking his head, Kristof pulled back
