either. The leaves are just going to keep on winding around and around.” He threw himself on the sofa.

“That’s ridiculous,” Hamish said. “He can’t do that. Mortals will see it.”

“I don’t think he’s concerned by that. He learned this trick from some sorcerer back in the bad old days. I’ve seen him do it with snow, too. Impressive, I must say. Those angels, they don’t know what side they’re on though. You can’t be good all the time, can you?” Ravish looked at Hamish for an answer.

“I don’t give a damn about any of that. You still didn’t tell me what you’re doing in my house.”

“You already know, Hamish. Azrael and I are in competition for your soul. White feathers, dark feathers, in between feathers. We need you to pick a side, even if it’s rather arbitrary.”

“Even mortals aren’t all good or bad, how can they expect us to be?” Hamish sighed. “What if I decide not to?”

Ravish was thinking about that. He had a point.

“Anyway, it kind of chooses me. I don’t have control. Who sent you, the Dark Lord?” Hamish asked.

“None of that matters, Hamish. Just commit your soul to me, and I’ll be gone.”

“You’re not going anywhere,” a soft voice announced.

Ravish and Hamish looked around to see Azrael standing in the doorway.

Ravish rolled his eyes. “Undo the spell, angel boy. You know I’m going to win this time.”

Azrael looked at Hamish. “You’ve already earned your place with us, my friend. He has no claim on your soul.”

Ravish regarded the angel with half-closed eyes. Damn. If only that irritable little cherub didn’t stiffen his cock every time he laid eyes on him.

Ravish rose up to his full height. The blond-haired imp could try and hide his desire for him all he wanted, but Ravish could smell it on him. “Isn’t lust one of the deadly sins?” he asked seductively.

“Only if it’s your neighbor’s wife, I believe,” he replied, smiling.

Ravish shook his head. “Crazy rules, you Goodies have. Too bad, because right now, I’m undressing you in my head and you couldn’t imagine what delights I could bestow. But then”—he sniffed—”I’m not interested in your skinny angel ass.”

“Well, then I suggest you get those images of my naked body out of your head, demon boy. It’s never going to happen again. Keep your filthy thoughts and paws to yourself.”

“What’s going on here?” Hamish demanded, looking from one to another, his eyes wide. “Are you two... ah... into each other?”

“I’m not into him,” Azrael denied, withdrawing his sword. “I am here to do battle for your soul, and if I have to draw and quarter this sleazy pervert to do it, I will.”

“Sleazy pervert, eh?” Ravish moved up closer. “Who almost lost their wings due to lack of control? I was thrown to the wolves because of you. Who walked away without so much as a tap on the wrist?”

“You seduced me,” Azrael accused. “And it’s not my fault your tribunal is less forgiving than mine.”

“You chained me to a wall and had your way with me!” Ravish accused. He had rather enjoyed that, but still, there were consequences. “You act all innocent, but you are as much of a pervert as I am.”

Azrael moved forward. “I was doing my job, slaying demons.”

“Yes, but you didn’t slay me, did you? Instead, you—”

“Whoa!” Hamish shouted, moving in between them. “Listen, this is getting out of control. Kill each other or fuck each other, I don’t care what you decide, but do it somewhere else.” Hamish pointed at the angel. “Get rid of those leaves around my house.”

He put his sword back into its sheaf and pointed at Ravish. “He worked the spell, not I. Ask him.”

“Lying is also a sin,” Ravish challenged. Damn, but he was cute when he got angry.

“Angels don’t lie.”

“Ha!” Ravish scoffed. “Should I give you a list?”

“Someone did it,” Hamish protested. “So undo it. And be forewarned, it doesn’t matter who wins or loses here, I will choose what to do with my soul, and you can tell whoever sent you, I said so. Now, go away, both of you.”

Ravish walked to the door and opened it. He pointed outside. “Ah, doesn’t look like we’re going anywhere until this is settled.” He pointed to the ceiling. “Higher power.”

Hamish’s eyes widened as he looked outside. In the distance, the leaves had formed a barrier around the property as high as a ten-foot fence. “Damn it,” Hamish said. “This is completely insane.”

“You said it,” Ravish grunted. “Stuck here with
