you’ve been in this situation before?”
She laughs, and I admire her beautiful smile and straight white teeth as she pulls herself up to sit on me a little taller. “On Earth, the women don’t go into heat.”
Now, I don’t believe her. How can this be? And look at her… she has all the signs. The extremely swollen breasts with puffy nipples, her enticing scent that calls to me, and the profuse slick that’s still running down the inside of her legs, filling the air around us with more of her irresistible scent that makes me want to throw her down and ravage her all over again. I can’t wait to feast on her and cover myself entirely with her scent.
“How can you say you don’t go into heat, when you are clearly in it now?” I don’t want to call her a liar, especially because we’re stuck together for the next however long it takes for her heat to break, but she’s also my mate.
Mated for life. The chemical interaction between us during this heat cycle will make it so that neither one of us will have any desire to be with anybody else. The bonding has just begun, but by the time we’re done, we’ll be connected mentally and emotionally. Honestly, I don't know exactly what that means since I’ve never known anyone who’s experienced it.
I watch as she braces her hands on my chest and lifts herself slowly off my length. I’m still swollen slightly around the base where I’ve expanded, and I finger it experimentally. It’s incredible looking, throbbing slightly at the circular bulge where it must lock me inside her, behind her pelvic bone.
Sunny hisses as she pops off of it, and I stop myself from chastising her. Sweet smelling fluid rushes from her as she stares at me, explaining. “Well… Earth females ovulate once a month, and I think your heat must be similar to ovulating?” She’s paused above me, waiting for clarification.
I shrug, unsure without further information. “Heat and ovulation could be the same thing if that’s the time that your body is preparing itself for pregnancy? By the time we’re done with your heat, you’ll most likely be with child.”
Her eyes have grown round, and for the first time, she shows signs of panicking. “Right.” She scrambles back from me, acting as if I’m going to bite her—again.
CHAPTER NINETEEN
- Sunny
“ARE YOU SURE I can’t go?” I’m trying not to pout, but it’s hard. I’ve been stuck in this tent for the last three to four days. Seriously… it’s kind of hard to remember how many days it’s been. Most of that time has been spent fucking each other continuously.
Not that I’m complaining. After I got over the panic of winding up pregnant—which really, who gets over that?—I had no choice. I can barely recall the first twenty-four hours while my body went through the weirdest, most fucked-up “heat” process. The pain if I tried to hold out was indescribable, and then eventually, I blacked out, coming to in the throes of passion. Usually getting pounded from behind…
Kaneer lowers his weight down over me, dropping beside me in the bedding I’ve arranged perfectly—again. “I won’t be long. Now that your heat is tapering off, I’ll take you out and introduce you to everyone here in the next few days. I’d like to wait until you don’t smell so delicious.” His lips quirk up, and of course, I back down. I’m so easy.
I’ve only seen a few people—well, his people—over the last couple days. Mostly Carnell, who’s come in periodically to swap out our water, waste bucket, and bring us food. If I had to guess, I’d definitely say she doesn’t like me.
Who can blame her? I don’t think I was totally off the mark when I thought Kaneer was fucking her. Although at this point, he swears that he has no intention of ever touching anyone else. I still have my doubts.
“Okay,” I breathe out softly, running my hands through his long hair that he’s taken to wearing down since I complimented him on it. We haven’t just been fucking, we’ve also been getting to know one another. At least, I like to think so.
“I told everyone to leave you alone in here, so you shouldn’t see anyone, even for food. If you get hungry, eat one of your bars.” Although I know he doesn’t believe that I come from another planet, he still listens to me and allows me to eat the granola
