now completely covered in the weird black tar that fell down in clumps, slapping on the tiled floor.

What was going on?

“Draven!” I called out but then my heart stopped as I heard a low laugh behind me. It was a laugh I had heard before, only this one didn't belong to anyone I loved,

NO! This belonged to someone that I feared...

Chapter 43 - Not Alone

I whipped my head round to face him but the bathroom still held the one occupant and that was me.

“Wh...Who’s there?” I asked the darkness with my voice trembling so much it sounded as if I was being shaken. I stepped closer into the room as the black tar was coming along the floor nearer to my feet. As I walked past the gilded mirror behind the sink I noticed two glowing dots that were getting brighter in its refection. They stood about Draven's height and were getting closer as I, in turn, edged closer to the sink. I took a deep breath and turned quickly to face it head-on. I soon realised that the two glowing dots belonged to a body and were in fact eyes staring back at me. I could just see the shadow of a man at first but when the moon came from behind the black clouds that filled the night sky, I realised it wasn't the shadow of a man...it was the shadow of a Demon!

The sight was so frightening I gagged, my mouth tasting the acid of sick my stomach produced. It was horrifying with skin that cracked and bubbled, bleeding the same black tar. Its lips had been sewn up crudely with some thick wire that looked as if it had been snipped open with bolt cutters. The glow from its eyes turned fiery red at the sight of my fear. It's face was long and misshapen as though it had been squeezed in a vice making its eyes bleed, only this time it was blood and it trickled down to its mouth.

“So, you must be Keira, the rose that I have heard so much about from my young friend over there...I believe you are acquainted.” He said spitting out the blood that flowed freely to the floor below him. I turned to where one long deadly black rotting nail attached to a deadlier looking hand pointed towards the window. There Morgan was leaning against one of the marble pillars, casually holding a large blade in his hand that he used to wave at me. I let out a blood curdling scream and I saw the flash of a jaw full of teeth as he smiled.

“I told him he wouldn't need to bring that thing but he knew your love for sharp objects and insisted.” I turned back round to face him and now Morgan wasn't the only one smiling. His mouth was hideous just like the rest of him. Each row only held six teeth but they were more like fangs, all separated coming down from his bleeding gums. His cloak curled around his body as if it too was alive, until I realised it wasn't a cloak at all, those were his wings!

“GET AWAY FROM ME!” I screamed at him when he took another step closer making my back lean against the sink that I was very nearly sat in.

“Come, come, my dear...your dark prince can't save you now. I have taken care of that!” He said making the blood from his mouth hit me in the side of my face. I wiped it away using my sleeve but as soon as it touched the fabric it turned into little black and red spiders that went running up and down my arm. I tried to shake them off but they took cover, scurrying under my sleeve and biting into my flesh to hold on. I couldn't contain the screams, as they seemed to multiply making my skin burn and itch.

I decided to make a run for it but the black ooze was everywhere on the floor making my feet stick as it worked its way up my toes, gripping on like black cement. I tried one last time, only to find myself screaming at the hands that had now burst through the mirror behind me. They grabbed me by the shoulders roughly, trying to restrain me for their master who was still coming closer. He extended one flaky hand out to me and his mouth opened, as if readying himself to sink those bleeding fangs into
