After Happily Ever Afte- Astrid Ohletz Page 0,8

Victoria was clutching at Anna’s shoulders when she climaxed this time, the grip tight enough that Anna thought it might break the skin. That didn’t matter, not in the face of a low and steady throb of an orgasm that seemed to reduce the world to nothing beyond the feel of each other.

They were both breathless, panting as Anna collapsed on top of Victoria, careful of her injured knee as always. With the most gentle of movements, Anna worked her hand free, marveling at the miniature flood that had splashed across the sheets.

“I am going to…” Victoria lost her train of thought quickly, nuzzling her face against Anna’s neck and letting her turn them onto their sides. “When I can function again, Anna…”

“I have every faith,” Anna said, thrilled at having satisfied Victoria so thoroughly. To then have Victoria return that pleasure felt almost too lucky, but she certainly wouldn’t be refusing the chance. “But right now I just want to look at you like this. This is the most beautiful I’ve ever seen you, I swear.”

Victoria had a hand over her eyes as she recovered, lifting it just enough to squint suspiciously at Anna.

Maybe she’d been too used to everyone saying she looked her best on stage. Maybe she just didn’t see what Anna did, but the statement was absolutely true. Gathering herself, Victoria shimmied toward the headboard, lying on her back once more.

“I might need a little more recovery on the acrobatic side of things, but there’s nothing to stop you coming up here. You must be so on edge, hmm?”

Anna nodded, biting her bottom lip. She crossed the short distance between them on her hands and knees, hair falling around her shoulders and across her face. “Sure you’re up to it?”

“I had a couple of orgasms, Anna. I didn’t run the New York City Marathon. Unless you’re not interested in exactly what I can do to you with my mouth while you’re straddling me…?”

Anna moved more quickly then, grabbing for the headboard and getting in position. Victoria’s questing fingers were already exploring her thighs, charting invisible lines and patterns, in constant motion.

“I really have missed you,” Victoria said, and then her mouth was too busy for more sentiment. Anna let her head drop backwards and rode out the oncoming storm.

Victoria woke in a tangle of sheets that seemed to both trap her and simultaneously not cover anything at all. The faint weight of a hand resting on her lower back seemed to have her pinned to the mattress, but with some stiffness and no small amount of pain, she managed to extricate herself and make it to the bathroom without waking Anna.

Conscious that they should be making the most of every moment spent in actual proximity, Victoria still let her sleep on. It was simple enough to shower and dress, discreetly order room service, and be tucked up on the sofa with the morning’s digital edition of Le Monde by the time Anna stirred and joined the land of the living.

“Hey,” she said, springing from the bed without a single visible ache or pain. She leaned over the couch to kiss Victoria good morning. “Can we—”

“Breakfast is imminent, I figured you’d need to reload,” Victoria said. Although most dancers lived on the minimum protein they could get away with, Anna had maintained her healthy appetite. After the considerable exertions on stage and on the bed, she’d be ready for at least two servings of breakfast, which Victoria would be providing alongside her own coffee and eggs. “You have time to freshen up.”

“You showered without me?” Anna was definitely pouting.

Victoria gave her ass a playful squeeze as she turned toward the bathroom. “We can make up for that later. You have another show tonight, can’t overdo it.”

Anna scoffed with the invincibility of someone who still had good years of dancing ahead of her.

Victoria swallowed a pang of something that tasted a lot like jealousy. It had been a while.

“After the show tonight,” Anna began to ask, but Victoria had her own invitation already in her purse.

“You’d like a date for the gala. I was planning to stay another night, now that you mention it.”

That earned her another kiss before Anna skipped off to the shower, serenading Victoria off-key with a song utterly distorted by the echoes from the tiled walls. Still, the noise was welcome. It made the space feel alive in a way Victoria’s Parisian apartment had yet to experience.

When they finally settled into breakfast, the busboy
