Wolf's Hunger (Mafia Monsters #5) - Atlas Rose Page 0,28
mine as he whispered, “Desperation, Carina. Never discount desperation. It’s what brought you to us…and for that, I’ll sacrifice every single thing I goddamn own.”
My breath caught at his words as I stared into his eyes. I’d never seen the truth burn so brightly, never felt this kind of connection…not like I felt with the Wolves. “This scares me, Arran.”
“Good,” he growled, and lowered his head to nuzzle my neck. “’Cause it fucking terrifies me.”

I let Arran kiss me, let him graze his fangs down my neck, and pull me against him, even as the faint rumble of thunder slipped into my ears. I felt that sizzle of energy, felt it spill from the clouds above to fill that hollow pit in my chest. I felt the urgency swirl in my soul, and amidst the violence, purpose found me.
Claim them…all of them…and protect them with our life.
“Chaos,” he grunted, kissing that place behind my ear. “That’s exactly what you are, special agent. I can feel the lust pouring from you. It makes me feel wild, Carina.” He slid his hand up my front until he cupped my breast. “Makes that unrestrained part of my nature savage as fuck.”
Use him…that desire growled. Take him…here in the dirt and the trees, let him ride you out in the open.
Arran dropped his head to the swell of my breast, his hand kneading and grasping as his body trembled, his muscles rippling with pent-up energy. Lust roared through me as the thunder grew louder.
But it wasn’t just lust, was it? It was Unseelie…and it was me.
That dark, animalistic beast unfurled in my head, desperate for me to claim it, as well. Arran lifted the bottom of my t-shirt as the sky darkened overhead, and exposed my breasts. He bent his head, lips and tongue taking one nipple. “Fuck, I can’t get enough of you,” he muttered, taking my nipple deeper into his mouth.
“That’s because you’re mine, Wolf,” I answered, my voice deep and husky. “And I’m yours.”
His hand slipped down my body and delved inside the waistband of my pants. A moan tore free as his finger slipped into the crease of my sex. He lifted his gaze to mine as a crack tore through the sky, stopping him cold, the heat of lust in his eyes. But it was turning to something else now. Something savage…something possessive. Something that whispered in my ear and lashed through my veins. His top lip curled, baring his teeth in warning. But still, he didn’t slide his hand free, if anything, he pinned my gaze with his and started that slow slide again as movement came from the trees and Vitold stepped out.
“Don’t stop on my account,” he murmured, his gaze riveted to Arran’s hand down my pants. “I’m just here to enjoy the show.”
But it wasn’t just a show…it was a storm. a storm that was crowding all around us. A crack of thunder sounded, punching my heart against my ribs. “The storm,” I gasped as Arran slipped his hand lower, finding that part of me slick and ready.
“What storm?” the Wolf questioned, kissing my neck as I dropped my head to the side.
Darkness moved and panic followed. I could feel that hunger, but as I lifted my gaze, I saw only clear blue sky above. There was a storm coming, a violent eruption, but it wasn’t from bruised clouds overhead…it was coming from somewhere else.
“Arran.,” I cried as something gave a snap.
Vitold tore his gaze from Arran’s hand down my pants and swung his gaze to the edge of the trees.
And in an instant, my two Wolves shifted. Arran ripped his hand back, and spun, his focus on a thick clump of trees in the distance as Vitold gave a terrifying snarl and stepped forward, the sound booming from his chest until he lunged.
Arran followed, lunging between trees on one side, while Vitold took off in the other, both Wolves heading in the same direction. They’re coming…that darkness whispered in my head a second before a howl tore through the air.
They’re coming…
The sound was deafening, rolling violently through me, chilling my blood. My Wolves were gone before I knew it, leaving me standing there with the Unseelie wrath boiling in my veins and no one to fight. I took a step forward, my senses on fire. The snap of a twig came in the distance to my right …something moved through the trees, coming closer…closer…closer.
Fear moved through me, dark and fetid, making me step forward
