Wolf's Hunger (Mafia Monsters #5) - Atlas Rose Page 0,21
me with a goddamn look…trapped me with a fucking smile. “Let’s see if we can improve that memory,” I recommended, and soaped my hand before running it down her breast.
She lifted her arms, winding them around my neck as I explored every inch of her under the guise of cleanliness. Soap slid over her breasts, her stomach, and between her thighs. Movement came from the doorway. I didn’t need to turn my head to know who it was.
Church strode in and made his way to the kitchen, carrying freshly caught meat as his way of an apology. I licked my lips, turning the soap to my own body, until she lowered her arms.
“My turn,” she demanded, holding out her hand.
It’s always your turn, female. The words slipped through my head. I let her take what she wanted, let her explore where she wanted, while she put the events of last night in the right order.
She belonged to the pack now, all four of us.
“Phantom…” she started, and lifted her gaze to mine. “About last night.”
“What about last night?”
Her cheeks reddened and her lips pursed, but there was a flicker of pain in her eyes. Ah, so this wasn’t about the sex.
“I upset Church,” she forced out.
“You did exactly what we needed. Church…” Flickers of memories came flooding back, the abandoned refrigeration container, my sister’s screams…and a young male Wolf…close to death. “He’ll come around.”
Her hands stilled on my stomach as the scent of cooking meat drifted into the room.
“We all have our demons, Carina.” I lowered my gaze to the faint green glow in her chest. “Every single one of us, it’s just that some take a bigger piece of our soul.”
I took the soap from her hand and cast it through the air, letting it hit the floor and slide to a stop. What the fuck happened last night? The question roared in my mind as I wound my hand around her neck and pulled her closer. I felt it in her now, that Unseelie taint. Chaos magic. Dangerous magic.
“The Unseelie you saw in the Dark City. Have you met him before?” Fear trembled deep inside me as I stared into her eyes.
If she lied, I’d know it.
If she lied, then this was all changed.
I’d kill Shrike…brother or no brother.
The allegiance would be broken.
My pulse sped as her brow furrowed and those brown eyes darkened. “No,” she answered. “Should I have?”
I had to remember who she was…had to remember that she didn’t belong in our world. I had to remember that she was an innocent here, even if the kind of magic she conjured last night can’t belong to someone untouched by an Unseelie.
I lowered my head and kissed her hard, my own beast a snarling, savage thing inside my head. Finis…the bastard invaded. Can’t let him get to her. Can’t let him touch her like he—the kiss turned savage until her moan of desire turned to one of pain.
I pulled away. I caught the wince before she lifted her fingers to her mouth. “A little forceful this morning, huh?”
“I’m sorry, Carina.” Rage burned inside as I lifted my hand and touched the swell of her lip. “Please forgive me.”
She said nothing, but the sweet, bitter scent of confusion flooded the air.
Fucking idiot. I kissed her gently, licking the swollen flesh until she opened her mouth to mine and moaned. I needed her, like I’d never needed anything before in my life.
That fucking terrified me.
She moaned as my fangs grew longer, grazing her tongue as she licked mine. She wanted the Alpha in me, wanted that possessive power, that brutal, bottomless hunger. I broke the kiss and lowered my head, nuzzling that sensitive spot behind her ear. She groaned, her hands sliding around my back, pulling her body hard against mine.
I dipped, grabbed her hips, and lifted, letting her wrap those legs around my waist. “I can’t lose you.” My cock found her entrance before I thrust in hard, leaving her to gasp in shock. “I won’t lose you.”
A whimper tore from her as I slammed my hips against hers. My beast surfaced, savage and unmerciful, the glint of rage in his eyes. I’ll fucking kill them all, he promised as I thrust again. I’ll kill every last one of them. I couldn’t get enough. Her body, her spirit…her fragile mortal life.
Her hands slid upwards, winding around my shoulders as she held on. “I’m h-here,” she whimpered around the savage thrusts. “I’m n-never l-leaving you again.”
