When She Purrs - Ruby Dixon Page 0,130

stroking him as he turns the tables on me. One big finger slips inside me and then he’s rubbing my clit and pumping into me with his finger at the same time, and I ride his hand for all that I’m worth as I try to pant out my answer. “Doctor…Roo…said…DNA…changes…rare…but happens…” I let out a little cry as I cling to him, arching as an orgasm threatens to burst, hard and fast. “Oh fuck, right there, baby.”

Nassakth makes me come hard, his finger rubbing against my G-spot as he works my clit. “Another child.” His voice is thick. “Boy or girl?”

“Didn’t ask,” I pant as he slides his fingers free from my body and moves my legs to encircle his hips. “Do you care?”

“No.” He fits the head of his cock at my entrance and slowly pushes into me, an intense look on his face.

“Are you…happy?” I arch my hips, preparing for his first thrust.

He sinks deep, filling me so good, so hard. I let out a sigh of pure pleasure, losing myself in the moment as I cling to him. He pounds into me, movements fast as our skin slaps. The sex has to be quick in case the kids wake up, but I love it this way as much as I love slow, languid sex. And the noli perfume ensures that we’ll have sex more than once, which is just as toe-curling now as it was the first time.

“Happy,” he grits as he pistons his cock into my welcoming body. “I am keffing elated and terrified at once.”

“Me too.” I wrap my arms around his neck, holding on tight as he uses me. A moment later, he grunts and then I feel the thick wash of his release between my thighs, and sigh happily. We didn’t come together that time, but it doesn’t matter. Next time. Or the time after that. We have all night. We have the rest of our lives. I’m not worried.

My big praxiian mate collapses atop me, pressing kisses to my skin. “We are going to need a bigger house.”

I chuckle, feeling loved and warm as he reaches between us and touches my stomach. “Is that all you have to say?”

He grunts. “We need to pick a name that has no chance of Bethiah thinking it’s named after her.”

I giggle at that. “Is there such a name?”

“Probably not.” He sounds sour even as his hand caresses my belly. “Another cub. You are a wonder, my mate.”

Am I? It’s probably because I’m married to the best alien in the galaxy.

AUTHOR’S NOTE

Hello there!

I feel like running around and waving my hands in the air, screaming. This is done! It’s finally done!! :)

Ahem.

So if you don’t follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you probably don’t know how this book generated. This happened because I was sitting in lockdown in March, as Covid-19 was just hitting the US. I can’t leave my house, and I felt helpless. Lots of people were organizing things to do to help hospitals and workers and I’m like…well, what the fuck can *I* do?

I noticed a lot of people giving away entire books and saw a few readers comment that they were stockpiling for when they’d have time to read again. So I thought, well, what if we did just a few pages a day? And I could write something light and fun to keep minds off of things. One of my favorite things about the holiday season is an Advent Calendar, where you open one tiny square a day. It’s a little something to look forward to every morning.

Why not do that with a book, right?

So I launched WHEN SHE PURRS. I intended to post like a chapter a week. Maybe two a week! And the whole thing would be maybe 15 chapters max, and we’d all have a good chuckle when the lockdown lifted and get on with our lives.

(Some of you are reading this and getting that hot, uncomfortable feeling on the back of your neck at how clueless and naive I am. I KNOW.)

One of the very first comments on WHEN SHE PURRS was “I can’t wait for tomorrow’s chapter!” And then *more* comments came in like that, and I realized…I needed to do a chapter a day. Not a chapter a week. Uh oh.

So I got to work, and I wrote. And wrote. And wrote. And instead of this being 15 chapters, it was seventy seven. Lol. It’s kind of a parallel for the whole Coronavirus lockdown that is STILL GOING ON even as I write this. Sure, the states are open…ish. But the numbers are rising and everyone is still wearing masks and things are still not ‘normal’.

At any rate, what turned out was a story that was a hell of a lot of fun to write, and I deliberately added twists and turns because of how I knew the readers would react. It very much felt like performance art - I’d post a chapter, read the comments, and it would inspire me to keep writing. It was exactly what I needed to keep me focused and sane during lockdown.

Also, it showed me how amazing and funny and wonderful my fans are. You guys are awesome.

It was actually sad for me to close out this story, though I felt like it went all the places I needed it to go. I’m happy to have the story done but at the same time, I miss the daily interactions and the readers’ comments…SO WE’RE DOING IT AGAIN.

That’s right. The world is still messy and needs some good, so we’re doing another serial, take two. This one will be called WHEN SHE BELONGS and it’ll feature Sophie and an extreeeemely grumpy hero.

One final note — I hope you enjoyed the super-extended epilogue. It’s my way of saying thank you for supporting me (and this book). I love you all.
