The Way To A Man's Heart - Frankie Love Page 0,48

old.

“She decided last minute to run the 5k with Bailey, Lucia, Myra and Brittany.”

“God, it’s so many people to keep track off,” Georgie says with a laugh. “I’m blaming it on pregnancy brain.”

“Maybe if our husbands weren’t so friendly at the gym, we wouldn’t have so many people in our circle,” Kourtney says. “But I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”

“Regardless,” I say. “While I’m impressed our girlfriends are doing the 5k, I’m happy to be here with you ladies, drinking champagne and eating French toast.”

“Cheers to that,” Jessa says. “And you know, this place orders my challah bread for their French toast.”

“Really?” Georgie lifts her glass. “Well, I’ll drink to that. You’re a serious boss babe, Jessa.”

I smile, texting Vance real quick as everyone orders. I send him a bacon emoji, adding that when I get home from brunch in case he’s still hungry, he can eat me.

I know. We are so ridiculous and I love it. #NoShame. Heck, we’ve been married long enough that little spicy texts now and then are nothing to balk at.

“Why are you grinning?” Georgie asks.

I laugh, wagging my eyebrows. “I’m sexting your brother so I’m not sure if you wanna know.”

She covers her face. “You know I love you, but boundaries girl!”

The table cracks up and I put my phone on vibrate, facing my friends. We all have a few weeks’ worth of updates to get through, and I don’t want to miss any of it.

Marrying Vance gave me the family I wanted all my life, but the added bonus was all these women. We’ve become an extended family all on our own.

It means the world to me, considering how I grew up. I always thought I’d have to face the world alone. Turns out, none of us do. We’re in it together, through thick and thin.

Later, as I walk in the front door, Vance is there to greet me, pulling me into a hug, telling me the kids are with the sitter. The house is ours.

“You’re in a mood,” I say, dropping my tote… and quickly after, my panties. I’m naked and his.

His mouth meets mine and I sink into his kiss. This man does wild things to my body and I love every second of it.

He pulls me to the bedroom, drawing me tight against his firm, chiseled chest.

“God, I want you,” he tells me, his breath hot on my ear. “Your texts from earlier were bacon me crazy!”

I giggle, giving him all of me. Our bodies moving in a rhythm only we know. “Well, thank you,” I say, a smile on my lips. “For bacon me so damn happy.”

About

The moment I see Trista at a local restaurant, eating noodles, adding extra Sriracha to her soup, and speaking her mind without a filter, I know she’s the one pho me.

She’s curvy, courageous and cute as a button.

One lunch and I’m crazy pho her.

I’ve dedicated my life to getting a position at the university.

But it’s my first day on the job and I’m already screwed.

Trista — the girl I’ve fallen for — is my student.

This job is once-in-a-lifetime, but no one can have it all.

And I want to love her pho-ever.

Dear Reader,

In those glasses Trent is like Clark Kent, only better.

Deep down, he’s the superhero Trista has been dreaming of.

Even though she’s his kryptonite, he pho-king loves her!

This short and steamy read is un-pho-gettable! Promise!

Chapter One

Trent

By the time dinner rolls around, I’m starving. Looking out the window of my office on campus, I see that it’s pouring down rain outside. Soup sounds like a good idea. The weather sucks, considering it’s spring, but still, it doesn’t put me in a sour mood. To be honest, nothing could right now.

I’ve worked my entire adult life for this moment. To be a literature professor at a university. Tomorrow is the first day of spring semester, and as I pull on my sports coat and then grab my umbrella, I feel as prepared as I will ever be.

The lesson plans are written, the handouts are printed, and I know which classroom I will be teaching in.

So, I leave my office in good spirits — knowing the rain sure as hell couldn’t damper my mood. I head down the hall, keeping my eyes lowered because there are too many undergrads who are trying to get my attention.

It's frustrating because I'm not interested in breaking the code of ethics. So, I
