Warlord's Mercy - Cynthia Sax Page 0,17

he recovered, she added tiny bits of rock vulture meat to the nourishment.

Then they fucked. Hard. He used her body with an exciting ferocity, taking her in a variety of positions, leaving bite marks and bruises on her skin.

She loved that sexy abuse. Chamele 4 had pounded the gentleness out of her, if she ever had it. And after solar cycles of being alone, she craved touch. She wanted to be owned, to be taken, to hurt. It made her feel alive.

But she doubted the male knew whose pussy he was pummeling into submission. Tolui never said her name during their encounters. He didn’t speak at all. Sometimes he didn’t open his eyes.

She was merely a random form for him, a hole to fuck, breasts to mark. In his delirium, he could have mistaken her for anyone. She could have been a substitute for the female he truly desired.

Her lips flattened. He might have claimed that unknown rival, might care for her, love her. And, while he was out of his mind with illness, incapable of making rational decisions, he had inadvertently betrayed his beloved female.

With her.

Lea wiggled with guilt. “I should have stopped you.” A truly good being would have done that. “I allowed my lust for you to overcome my judgment.”

His fever had finally broken at sunrise on this third planet rotation. His temperature lowered. The flush on his golden skin dissipated. His wounds had closed. He healed faster than any human.

By the time she dressed in her favorite chest covering and matching ass coverings, he had fully regained consciousness.

He now rested with his back against a stone wall and glared at her. His eyes were dark and full of accusations. His scarred countenance was hard.

It was…unnerving. “He must know we fucked.” She tugged on the collar of her chest covering as she whispered that realization to herself. “I smell like him.” The scent had been comforting and it shouldn’t have been. He was a stranger, didn’t belong to her. “My pussy is filled with his cum.” Her thighs had glistened when she’d donned the ass coverings. “His bite marks decorate my neck.”

He curled his top lip, revealing his sharp teeth. “We didn’t rut.” Each word was bitten off.

That level of anger had to be based in guilt. “Shit.” She must have been right. He had a female. “You weren’t aware of what you were doing.” She tried to ease his conscience. “I was aware.” She could have ended their encounters at any moment. “It was my fault we fucked.” Multiple times. Gloriously. “If you want to blame someone, blame me. I—”

“We didn’t fuck, as you call it.” His eyes blazed with fury. “I’m an honorable male. I would never rut with a female like you.”

She stared at him for one long moment, unable to believe her hearing. “What did you say?”

“You heard me.” The Warlord glowered at her.

“You’d never rut with a female like me?” Lea reeled backward, that insult hitting her like a slap across her face. “What does that mean?” She must have misunderstood him.

He crossed his big arms in front of his equally big chest and said nothing.

“I didn’t misunderstand you, did I?” She grabbed the garment she’d been crafting, needing to put her hands around something other than his thick neck. “Well, fuck you, barbarian. You have regrets. I get that. But you didn’t have to insult me.”

“It was no insult, little human.” The hard line of the male’s jaw softened a smidge. “You’re delicate and fragile and—”

“Stop talking.” She had received the message. He felt she wasn’t worthy of a great Warlord like himself. “If you have the energy to be rude, you have the energy to move to the private chambers.”

She clutched the half-completed garment, jumped to her feet, and stalked toward the hallway leading to that space.

Tolui glanced in the direction of the other exit. “Beings will be looking for me.”

The idiotic male was anxious to return to his female, to the love of his fuckin’ lifespan.

Loss jabbed Lea’s heart, the pain sharp and deep and likely lasting. “If you want to go, don your uninspired ass coverings and your depressingly plain boots and go.”

She didn’t believe it was wise for him to leave. He would be weak, and there were many dangers waiting for him outside the tunnels. But she wouldn’t stop him.

“If you decide to stay, keep to the flat stones.” She hopped onto the first one. “I won’t tend to your wounds if you fall into the
