UnHinge Me (Savage Beast MC #6) - Hayley Faiman Page 0,80

kid.”

“And I’m thinking he didn’t give enough of a fuck about me to try to find me for the past three months,” I snap.

He doesn’t know the truth, doesn’t know that had he married Della, he would be with his own baby right now and I wouldn’t be where I am. He doesn’t know the truth of it all. I am sloppy seconds to the family he really wants.

Dutch shakes his head as he shifts the truck into park. I don’t get a chance to argue with him for even another minute. He jumps out of the truck and walks toward the clubhouse. He doesn’t look back, instead, he just walks into the clubhouse, leaving me alone in the truck.

I watch the clubhouse door close, then stare at that closed door and wonder why I don’t just jump out and run. It feels like a great day to run. To hide. To live in denial.

A fist pounding on the window causes me to scream with a jump. Turning my head, I look over to see Gator standing on the other side, a smile playing on his lips. When I don’t make a move to open the door, he does it for me.

“Babe,” he rasps. “You here for him?”

I shrug a shoulder. “I’m here because Dutch drove me here.”

“No other reason?” he asks, his gaze dipping down to my belly before it lifts up to meet my own.

“Nope,” I say, popping the P.

He chuckles, shaking his head as he takes a step back, holding the door open for me. Sliding from the truck, I decide not to fight the moment. I do need to tell Mountain the truth. He should know that I’m going to have his baby. It’s not fair to keep it from him, but that doesn’t mean that I’m suddenly his woman again or that he’ll magically want me.

Fuck that.

He’s still a dick.

“He’s not here,” he rasps. I let out a sigh of relief, but Gator only grins an almost sad smile before he continues, “But he’s supposed to be back any second.”

“Lovely,” I mutter.

He laughs, making his way toward me as he slides his arm across my shoulders. “Pretty much, darlin’.”

I feel comfortable around Gator, he’s been to our place a lot lately and he’s kind of become just part of our circle. Me, Ana, Gator, and Dutch. Although, I think Ana likes Gator and Dutch likes Ana, but I don’t get in the middle of their stuff, I’m just happy to be around fun, nice, people.

“He’s going to see that little bump that you’re really shit at hiding as soon as he lays his eyes on you. What’s your plan?” he asks.

Stopping, I look down at my feet, wondering if I really need a plan? I was just going to wing it, but now I feel like I should have at least some kind of little speech prepared. Stopping in the warm Arizona sun, I turn to face him.

Opening my mouth to speak, I freeze when I see a pickup truck headed our way. “Shit,” I whisper. “Shit,” I repeat.

“He’s here,” he murmurs.

Before I can reach for him, beg him to stay, Gator turns and leaves me standing in the middle of the parking lot area, facing this pickup truck. I watch as it comes to a halt in front of me. The passenger door swings open and my entire body freezes at the sight in front of me.

It’s him.

It’s Mountain.

Wilder Lopez.

The father of my unborn child.

He doesn’t look down, his gaze is focused on my face, on my eyes and nowhere else. I watch as he stomps toward me, the dust and dirt flying all around him. I clear my throat, my body unable to move. I want to turn and run, but his dark dancing eyes, they’re holding me hostage.

MOUNTAIN

I’ve had enough of being on the road, of sleeping in hotels, and of being away from my club. Thoughts of Leighton pop into my head, but I don’t even know if I’m going to see her again. They’ve found her, but the way Dragon was being, I’m not even sure what that means.

Worm pulls up to the gates, doesn’t even have to stop because they’re open. I’m immediately on the alert. The gates are hardly ever open, they’re closed for a reason and the fact that they’re open, it makes me think that there could be trouble.

Then I see her.

Trouble.

She’s standing next to Gator, talking to him. They look like they’re deep in conversation.
