UnHinge Me (Savage Beast MC #6) - Hayley Faiman Page 0,38
the steam surrounds us. “And you’re Mountain Lion,” I breathe.
He nods his head once. “I am. There’s Dragon, my president. There’s Wolfe and Silver.”
“Silver?”
His lips curve up into a grin. “Silverback gorilla,” he explains.
My lips part in awe as I watch him. He chuckles, shaking his head, dipping it before he straightens and turns around to reach for the soap. Just when I think that he’s going to kiss me, to touch me some more, he doesn’t.
The rest of our shower is quick and almost clinical. We wash our bodies, Mountain leaves when I start to shave my legs and I finish up alone, my excitement about another climax completely dissipated.
When I’m finished, I wrap the towel around my body and make my way toward the master bedroom to dress for the day. It doesn’t take long for me to grab a pair of shorts, a tank, some sandals and throw my hair up in a high ponytail.
Mountain appears, peeking his head in, his eyes roaming over my body from head to toe before he grins. He tosses something black toward me, but I don’t make a single move to catch it. Instead, I watch it as it lands at my feet.
“A duffel to pack your shit. You’ll be living in my room at the clubhouse until I get back. Pack enough for about a month,” he instructs.
“A month?” I breathe.
He jerks his chin up but doesn’t verbally deny or confirm my question. Instead, he turns away and just walks away from me. I blink at the empty doorway, then shake my head and blink again.
What the actual fuck?
A month?
Leaving the duffel bag on the floor, I step over it and stomp after him. I find him in the kitchen, his back to me and the fridge open. I ball my hands into fists at my side, digging my nails into my palm as I watch him bent over, his head in the cool refrigerator.
He must sense my presence. Slowly he straightens his back and turns to face me. He arches a brow and crosses his arms over his broad chest. I hate that he’s so damn sexy, that he makes me feel so good, that it’s really hard to be irritated with him.
“Are you seriously leaving me here, with strangers at your club for a month?” I hiss.
He nods his head once. “Yeah, I am. You’ll be safe there.”
My heart starts to race. It slams against my ribs as my mouth goes dry at the same time. The idea of being thrust into this strange place, full of men that I don’t know, it makes my entire body break out in a sweat. I don’t say anything else though, it doesn’t matter.
Mountain is going to do what he’s going to do and ultimately, I don’t have a say in shit. All I can do is make the best of my situation. At least for now, until I’m no longer in this situation, then I’ll make the best out of the next and so on and so on.
Maybe one day I’ll be able to do as I please, but that day is not today. I’m at his mercy and he’s leaving me at the mercy of his men. I really hope that he trusts them enough that they won’t hurt me.
Maybe he doesn’t give a fuck if they do? I suppose only time will tell. Maybe my imagination will run completely wild and I’ll be completely panicked for an entire month?
Guess I’ll just have to cross every single bridge as it appears in front of me.
Chapter Twelve
MOUNTAIN
Leighton is pissed off at me, but I’m not sure that I give much of a shit. I suppose that I should. She is mine for a while. Clearing my throat, I pull into the parking lot of the clubhouse. I didn’t bother getting my bike, not when I’m going to be leaving tomorrow anyway.
I could have spent tonight at the house, but I need to introduce her to everyone, to get her settled and to leave from here at an ungodly hour in the morning. Besides, until she orders sheets and shit, I’m tired of sleeping on my childhood bed. It was a fun nostalgia for the first night, but that mattress is old as fuck and shitty as all hell.
“You’re angry?” I ask.
She doesn’t say anything right away, her head is turned from me as she looks out the passenger window of the car. I don’t push her, I also don’t make
