Trials and Tiaras (Untouchable #7) - Heather Long Page 0,77

we pulled apart, I caught Archie’s gaze and smiled. This was our family. I swore he must have been thinking the same thing, ’cause he winked.

Even with all their “help,” it still took another fifteen minutes for me to finish being ready, and yes, I was in the damn heels. I was also wearing a buttery soft leather coat that was way too expensive and did not belong in my closet. I knew better than to leave Archie alone in a store, especially after I’d admired the coat for all of about fifteen seconds.

Still…it was really soft, and the smile he wore when I ran my fingers over it shut up my objections before I could even make them.

Finally, we were all out in the car—Jake’s as usual when it was all of us—with the music cranked and singing along. The cats were probably glad to be rid of us. The guys had taken care of making sure they had food and water, and I’d even noticed the new cat tree in the living room. Not to mention the whole apartment had been a lot neater.

Jeremy had really done way too much.

But I put that away. I put it all away. Tonight, we were celebrating.

And apparently, we were going to the Liquid Lounge. A squeak escaped me.

“We didn’t make it on Valentine’s,” Ian told me. I was sandwiched between him and Archie in the back. “So tonight, we’re going to make up for that and celebrate your freedom.”

“And that whole ‘we’re not siblings’ thing,” Archie said. “’Cause while I didn’t care…”

“It’s still good news,” I agreed with him in a rush. Because to be honest, I hadn’t cared either. But neither of us wanted that out there. “No more bad meatloaf.”

“Yes!” Jake yelled from the front as he pulled up to the curb with the valet. “Fuck off, bad meatloaf.”

The whooping increased until I was smiling so hard, my face hurt. There was a cover charge to get in, and we all had to get stamps on our left hands—no alcohol because we were under age—but I didn’t care. Inside, there were singers on the stage already doing “Summer Nights” from Grease. Archie had made reservations, so we were shown right to a table.

I danced along to the music as I followed Archie and the hostess. Jake’s hands were on my hips as he followed. The interior of the club was gorgeous. It was all art deco and dark colors, save for the splashes of neon. It was so outrageously over the top that I loved it. We got a round of drinks ordered, and I settled in the center of the booth with the guys sliding in on the edges.

Coop was the last one to the table, but he wore a grin. We toasted my ‘freedom,’ and then Ian pulled over the music catalog and pushed it to me. “Pick one,” he said.

And I grinned at him. I’d asked for this date, and not only was I getting it, I got it with all of them. There was a steady stream of performers, some awesome, some terrible, and a lot in between. But they were all having fun. When one group got up to do “Bohemian Rhapsody,” we were all singing along.

I’d picked a song, and when I showed Ian, he grinned wider and gave me a thumbs up before he slid out of the booth to go and sign us up. When he came back, he winked, then finished his drink before he lifted his chin toward Archie. He nodded, and there was that silent communication thing the boys all did as they exchanged looks.

As the last group finished and left the stage, they all slid out, but not before Archie pressed a kiss to my lips and said, “This is for you, babe. Happy Valentine’s—you know what, fuck it. Happy every day.”

I grinned as the four of them streamed up on the stage. What were they going to…

Then the music started, and I swore my face caught on fire as all the blood rushed to my cheeks. The fact that Ian started it off had me grinning from ear to ear. Then the guys backed him up, and I died laughing as they even added the moves to “The Best Song Ever.” I would kill Coop later for betraying my One Direction fascination.

It had been a year-long obsession that I outgrew, but I had to admit, this was one of my favorite songs. Jake took the next
