wouldn't have even noticed.

Not like either of us needed one. We were the ultimate weapon when our elements unleashed.

"Is Shadow Jade still organizing her collection?" Zeke asked as we made our way through another security checkpoint, which was just as lazy as the last.

"No, she's done. She's chilling in my head until her horror marathon," I admitted, feeling her presence.

She liked being quiet when I was being intimate with others, but I sensed her curiosity regarding the lack of security.

"Poor Security. Kill?" she asked.

Nah. I think we'll lay low tonight. If this is a huge party that everyone is fighting to attend like Sallie made it seem, we need to gather information with our eyes.

"Boring," she admitted.

A smirked formed on my lips and I looked at Zeke, who was eyeing me.

"She's bored and says the security sucks," I summarized.

"I feel you there. I'm hoping the music is better on the second floor because the current tunes suck."

"It will be different?" I asked.

"At parties like these, there are levels. First one is the general, anyone-can-be-here floor. The second is for more of the cooler people and seniors. The third floor is usually the last and for the elite and exclusive kids on the block. All floors are soundproof, which is why they can play different music, but in this case, looks like only the second and third floors are. At home, we have four floors, so we'd add a fourth category —royal status — when we had parties."

"Royal, huh?" I asked.

"Yup. Us, and anyone we specifically wanted up there. Sallie’s email said we have access to all three floors. I think all the juicy stuff will be on the third floor."

"No doubt about that," I admitted. "What's our plan? Chill and listen?"

"Yup. We can go through each floor and test out Zion's device. I do think whoever is monitoring us wouldn't miss this opportunity, especially with it being noted we'd be attending."

"You mean on the gossip blogs?" I inquired, making sure my purse was locked before loosening the black chain and putting it over my head and across my body so it hung on the side of my hip with no issue.

"Yup. Sallie published the guest list earlier this morning."

"So you do pay attention?”

"Nah." Zeke shook his head. "Zeus told me on the way out. That, and if you somehow get hurt he'll sacrifice my blood to some cult."

"Well." I thought about it. "At least the brotherly love is strong."

"I don't know what in the sentence with sacrifice, blood, and cult shows any demonstration of brotherly love, but sure." Zeke laughed, holding me closer to him as he kissed my cheek.

That attracted the attention of the many people attending, a few individuals already pulling their phones out to take pictures. It was time for both of us to do our parts in this mini-investigation.

Wrapping my arm around Zeke's, I did my utmost best to be as flirty and lovey-dovey as I could. It wasn't super hard. In fact, it was easy when it came to Zeke.

Our conversations were casual yet complemented one another in so many ways. It was like he was meant to be with me, which made me feel even more accepting of the thought of dating him and his three brothers, because they were all connected.

We'd yet to research more about this Hive thing, but from our general understanding from Alaric, Bianca, and Tanner's demonstration, our unique connection was something people would die to have, especially in the main Tracker District.

Or in the depths of the Black Market.

Bobbing my head to the music, and having a few Kill song moments, we reached the second floor. I personally wanted to do a quick outfit check and listen in on any gossip in the washrooms.

There was no need to check the first floor. It was overly crowded and not the place for girls to stand and chat. However, the second and third floors would be perfect spots.

The second floor, in my mind, would be the most popular due to it being for the upper peeps who loved to gossip and gather the exclusives for their lame blogs.

Slipping my arms around Zeke's waist to get his attention, I leaned up to whisper in his ear.

"I'm gonna do a little listening in the washroom."

"Hmm." He glanced down at me for a moment. "That's all?"

"Yup." I went on my tiptoes again to whisper. "If I needed anything else, I'd ask you to sneak in and join me." Lightly tugging his earlobe with my
