The Tracker Hive Academy Year One - Avery Song Page 0,56
his gaze to my lips and then back up. My gut told me he'd almost forgotten his train of thought.
"Because a, you trust me, and b, I want to make sure nothing's inside ready to pop out at you."
"Aww. Are you trying to make my heart flutter in affection?" I teased. "It's not working, but okay."
He is making something else flutter in need.
I would have bet that he was one second from popping a vein, but he surprised me by closing the distance between our lips. I was ready to step back by instinct, but his arm hooked around my waist, pulling me against him as he deepened the kiss.
Goddess, I can't ignore this.
To say Zeus didn't turn me on as much as his three identical brothers would be the biggest lie of the school year. My flames burned for his, my body temperature spiking up with the bits of sparks fluttering down my arms and legs.
Zeus groaned when I kissed him right back, both his arms wrapping around my waist and holding me close. I could feel the drumming heat that pushed off his skin while tiny currents of electricity began to spark around us.
In the back of my mind, I knew we had to stop, but fuck. He tasted so fucking good, and I wasn't ashamed to want more. I was against the red lockers before I knew it, his body pressed against mine and his tongue tangling with mine as we fought for control.
My hands moved along his back, fingertips digging into his blazer, as we continued to kiss. The energy building between us was getting to a dangerous high, but we kept going.
The consequences of this would have to take a back seat while we simply enjoyed how amazing this felt.
When his groin pressed against me, I almost came from the mere touch.
There was a huge popping sound as all the lights in the hallway went out at once, leaving us in pitch darkness.
We broke the kiss and I could see his eyes were now a vivid glow of gold, red, and orange. I wondered if my eyes were doing the same, but I couldn’t tell.
While we both focused on catching our breath, we could hear the commotion farther down the hall, the two of us moving our gazes to see that our hallway wasn't the only one blacked out.
Zeus let out a groan. "Stop bothering me. It wasn't me," he grumbled.
I looked back at him, arching an eyebrow for him to enlighten me with what his comment was referring to.
"Zeke thinks I caused the blackout," he muttered. I grinned, hooking my arms around his neck and bringing his face closer.
"Before I get to that, why did you kiss me?"
He slowly bit his lip, his eyes scanning mine. "Blame Zeke," he grumbled.
"Zeke is walking around the school. You, on the other hand, are right here," I purred. Zeus swallowed, our energies dying to be reunited once again.
I was fighting the urge, but it was a difficult match to win. That connection was what I would consider an addiction.
An addiction I would indulge in over and over again if it didn't cause blackouts.
"I'm intrigued," I whispered, brushing my lips lightly on his, a light spark jolting there. He bit his bottom lip in return but tightened his hold around my waist and held me even closer to him.
I had to hide how our proximity was affecting me. I was waiting patiently with an amused expression on my face, but my mind was racing, trying to calm my hormones and tell my lady bits to settle the fuck down.
"Zeke seriously likes you," he admitted.
"Do you like me?" I questioned.
I wasn't brushing away the fact he revealed Zeke liked me as more than just a Tracker-classmate-friend working together in one common goal. But I needed to know.
"Not sure," he admitted. "But you’re dangerous to be around."
"Because?"
"You make me want more," he whispered. "And that's a far too dangerous want to have."
"Does it imbalance you four?" I pondered.
"Somewhat," he replied. "If only Zeke could follow the rules."
"If Zeke is anything like me, he doesn't do rules."
"That's exactly the problem and why we are both standing in the dark," Zeus replied.
"Not bad." I shrugged. "Could always take advantage."
"I'd love to, but we're going to be late for class," he whispered. Moving away from me, he eased over to my locker.
"Number."
"12345," I concluded, needing the space to think straight.
"That's stupid," he mumbled but began putting the code in. "Anyone can figure that
