quadruplets, has a purpose. Looping me into it will either benefit you, or destroy you, but you four believe having me as an ally would aid you in your task."
He didn't answer, but I watched his Adam's apple go up and down, a sign of his nervousness.
"Did you know I hate change rooms?" I changed the subject. "I think you do, because Alaric, Bianca, or god forbid, Tanner, would have told you," I declared. "Why would they tell you a weakness of mine, if they weren't trying to test me as well?"
With a blink, the four of them were gone from my sight, but I knew they were still in the same dark room as me. I giggled quietly.
"Did you want to know why I hate change rooms or is that a story for another day?" I asked the quiet air, knowing I wouldn't get a response immediately.
I felt the flow of hot breath tickling the right side of my neck, and a cool set of lips brushed against my skin and excited the darkness inside me.
"I'm curious," the monotone voice whispered in my ear, tugging my ear lobe lightly. I looked over my shoulder, my lips curling up as I felt one of the quad's presences.
"Hmm. Changing your speech to remove any hint of emotion. Is this game about determining who is testing me?" I inquired breathlessly, a pair of delicate lips pressed against my own.
The darkness in me felt satisfied, but there was a tug at the icy chill of my magic that caused me to smile. "If I didn’t know better, I'd assume you were Zeke, but your lips are too soft, move too slowly with a hint of apprehension, and have a slight chill to them."
Even in the dark room, I could sense the person before me, not needing a speck of light to know who this was. "Zackery. I'm sure you're not as intrigued about my fear of change rooms as Zeke is, who is to my far left."
"Not bad," two voices said together.
"Is this going to continue to be a guessing game, or do I have to prove that I can take all four of you on without breaking a sweat?" I questioned.
I personally loved playing around, especially with cases like these where it was a four-against-one scenario, but my hunger was starting to make me impatient and I didn't think these guys deserved to deal with that side of me.
Never play around with a girl who is in desperate need of some food.
"You should be freaking out," the combined voices declared.
I sighed and snapped my fingers, a ring of floating flames wrapping around me and hovering in place. The illumination helped light the room just a little bit, revealing the guy's silhouettes, but it wasn’t bright enough to allow me to see their true locations.
"Why? Did you guys think because I was in this change room and in pure darkness that I would freak out?" I questioned. "Ah...that would make sense."
Rising to my feet, I stood on the bench, walking to the end and twirling around to walk to the other side slowly while outstretching my arms.
"Now that you gave me that information, it all makes sense," I concluded. "You four were sent by the Magic Council."
They were silent, my assumptions were right on. I could feel it.
"Considering that Bianca suggested I show you where the change rooms are, you guys must have asked prior to enrollment for a tour of those specifically. Sure, it's an important place when we need to change for physical education, but not a typical place to request a tour of. The only way to know about my weakness is to read about the incident that happened when I was twelve," I announced.
Shadow Jade appeared again, sitting on the top part of the lockers.
Locking my eyes onto hers, I could see her displeasure with the topic written all over her face, but I grinned, trying to cheer her up.
She never was one to live in the past. You only did that if you wanted your dark energy to grow in the event of a battle.
"I'd just finished an amazing assignment. Kicked a few older guys’ butts, got them arrested, and called it a day by working out my remaining burst of energy at the gym. Alaric was fine with me doing my own thing, as long as I never caused trouble. One of my ‘things’ was working out at the gym in the busy city. I went really
