Sweet Little Lies (Dirty Little Lies Duet #2) - J.D. Hollyfield Page 0,24

nod once more. He opens the door, and I’m surprised to see the woman from the door waiting outside. “Clara will escort you out the private exit. Be well, little bird. We’ll talk soon.”

And just like that, I’m dismissed. No goodbye kiss. No hug or praises on how amazing that was. He walks away from me and shuts the door to the bathroom.

“After you, miss.”

I turn and walk away.

Gabriel

I crossed the line. And damn, it was intoxicating. She was everything I imagined. Delicious in every manner. The richest delicacy. Willing and compliant. Her mouth needed to be silenced. She needed to be tamed, but a part of me enjoyed her untamed side. She didn’t listen, which pissed me off. But it was also quite entertaining. I had her on edge. Confused. Sexually deprived. But it was nothing compared to what she was making me feel.

I was serious about no more drinking. If I ever call and she’s out of sorts again, I’m done with her. But not before I murder any nitwit boy trying to get what’s mine. I swirl the scotch in my glass, losing myself in the memory of her tied up and flushed. Her pussy was like heaven to sink into. I claimed every moan that fell off the plump lips that I have so many plans for. She was innocent and tranquil, a clean canvas just waiting for me to ruin. And I couldn’t be any more pleased about it.

The problem is, she’s not easily accessible. If she was, she’d never leave my bed. I’d hide her away in my castle, take her to my own playroom, and do so many filthy things to her. This only leaves me tense and grumpy. I’m used to relieving my aggression regularly. I should take a woman to a room.

But I don’t.

For her.

This nagging feeling has me caring about how she would feel if I was with another woman. Even that angers me. I don’t care what others think. I’m a man of eccentric taste and needs. I don’t require emotion—just the physical.

Until her.

I slam the whole glass, needing to numb the bullshit swimming in my mind. I look at the time. It’s close to one in the morning, but I pull my phone out and dial her number. It takes a few rings, and I become edgy that she’s already disobeyed me and is out drinking. She answers on the fourth ring, her voice laced with sleep.

“Hello?”

I don’t say anything, just like the other calls I’ve made to her this week. I need to know she’s being a good little girl.

“Hello?” Her sleepy voice awakens my cock. Fuck, I need to find an outlet. “Gabriel, I know it’s you. I have caller ID.”

“I want you home—this weekend. Call your daddy and tell him you miss him. You’re coming for a little visit.”

“I’m not sure he’s in town—”

“Don’t question me, little bird. Friday night. You belong to me, and you do as I say. I expect you in a timely manner. I don’t take kindly to tardiness.”

She sighs through the phone. “All right, Gabriel. I’ll be there.”

“Who?”

I get off on the way her breath hitches. She knows she’s made an error. Her voice is weaker as she whispers, “Yes, Master.”

I wonder if she can sense the smile breaching across my face. How hard she makes me when she complies. “’Til then, little bird.”

Friday

I’ve had a shit day. A three-month deal on the verge of signing, and they get cold feet. An in-and-out handshake turned into hours of debate and smoothing over with still no signature. Not to mention, I received a text from Hazel telling me she can’t meet me until later. Heath, that fuck, wants to take them for pizza. My hand twitches, planning out her punishment. It’s time she understands what disobeying me entails. Timeliness is a rule she needs to learn. I’ve been anticipating her visit since our call, and now I have to wait longer, putting me in an even more sour mood.

It’s close to midnight when my phone notifies me someone’s at the gate. I watch on the camera as she enters the code I gave her and races up the long driveway.

My phone rings, and I growl seeing my assistant’s name. “What is it?” I snap.

“They aren’t signing. I need you to come back.”

“Not fucking happening,” I snap, watching Hazel climb out of her car.

“But they said—”

“Keep them happy until tomorrow. I don’t give a fuck what you do. I won’t be back
