Strung Tight (The Road To Rocktoberfest #1) - Ann Lister Page 0,95

I admitted.

“I only took care of the business end of things, Fletcher. What you guys did tonight on stage was all you.”

“I get that, but I don’t think you realize how much you’ve come to mean to me over the months we’ve been working together,” I said softly. “You’re more of a father to me with your support and life wisdom than my own father ever was, and it means a lot to have you in my life. I’m not explaining it properly, but I’m really grateful you believed in me—in us, and helped us to achieve this dream.”

Dagger surprised me and hauled me into a hug. “First of all, I’m not nearly old enough to be your old man.” Dagger teased me, but I heard real emotion in his words. He leaned back and held my face in his hands. “Thank you for saying that, though, and at the risk of sounding like a cry baby, I won’t admit how much I’d love to have you as a son. You’ve helped me as much as I’ve helped you, and it’s been a helluva lot of fun.”

“Well, as you said, you’re not old enough to play that role, so you better stick to rock-star mentor,” I said and grinned, but I could feel tears building in my eyes.

“I’m really proud of you, Fletch,” Dagger said with a pat on my back.

His words were the trigger that finally made my tears fall. I reached for my face as fast as I could to wipe away the evidence, but I know he’d seen the waterworks.

“Thank you for saying that,” I croaked out, and Dagger hugged me again.

“Go get your man and properly celebrate tonight’s success,” he suggested, “and I’ll see you tomorrow.”

I waved at him as I began to walk over to Dallas. My eyes still burned from the conversation with Dagger, but I was so ready to enjoy some time with my guy. Once I reached him, I held out my hand, and the feeling that washed through me when he slid his fingers between mine made me want to shiver. I was so far gone for Dallas and couldn’t believe the sense of happiness and peace he gave to me.

Paxton was the security guard who followed us back to the bus, and I turned around to face him once we reached our destination. “We’re in for the night,” I stated. “I’ll lock up, but I might suggest that you not stand anywhere near the back of the bus unless you want to get an earful. We can both be screamers.”

Dallas and I both broke out in laughter while Paxton did his best to hide his grin. He quickly cleared the inside of the bus for us and met us by the door.

“Enjoy the rest of the night, boys,” Paxton said and then disappeared.

We climbed the stairs and ran toward the bedroom in the back. I slammed and locked the door and had Dallas naked and on his back in under five minutes. Rolling around with him on that bed felt so damn good and long overdue. It seemed like forever since we left LA, and now we were back in the same spot as we’d come full circle. Except for tonight, I wanted something else entirely.

“I want to feel you inside me,” I whispered to Dallas in between frantic kisses, and he froze beneath me.

“Are you sure?” he asked. “I’m more than happy to bottom.”

“I’m very sure,” I said. “I want to know what it feels like with you.”

Dallas touched my face with his fingers and outlined my brows, my nose, and then his thumb ghosted over my lips. “I want that with you too,” he said quietly, “and I promise I’ll make you feel so fucking good.”

“I know,” I said and smiled. “I completely trust you.”

Dallas eased me onto my back and lay beside me. He grabbed the lube and a condom off the shelf and then kissed me senseless. When he pulled back, I was breathless. His kisses felt so damn good that they turned my brain to mush every time. He opened the lube and spread some over his fingers. His mouth moved to my throat, and licked before he sucked.

“I’m all sweaty from the concert. Do you want me to shower?” I asked as my fingers played in his hair.

“Nope, you taste delicious,” Dallas said in a breathy tone.

I shivered when his lips and whiskered chin nuzzled my nipples and groaned when he circled the head
