sun-kissed golden skin… damn. And he looks so damn nervous. I can’t believe I have this kind of effect on him.
My heart starts pounding, and my nerve endings tingle. We stand face-to-face, just the two of us alone in the house. I press my hand to his chest, right over his sternum, and I swear I can feel his heart pounding. Just like mine.
I want him so damn bad.
But I learned my lesson last night. I don’t want him freaking out on me again. Baby steps with this guy, I remind myself. Baby steps. “Can I get you a drink?” I nod toward the parlor. “I’ll even break out the good stuff, just for you.”
He nods. “I could sure use a drink right now.”
You and me both, gorgeous. I release his jacket and head for the bar to grab two glasses and a bottle of my best Glenfiddich. He sits on a barstool across from me and watches me pour a neat shot into each glass. I hand him one and lift mine for a toast.
“What are we toasting?” he says.
“How about to a fresh start? To a do-over.”
He smiles as he touches his glass to mine. “I’ll drink to that.” And then he takes a biting sip. I watch his Adam’s apple bob as he swallows. When he licks his bottom lip, my belly tightens, and my cock throbs. Damn.

I lean forward on the bar. “So, Tyler…” I pour him another shot. “Have you ever been attracted to a man?”
He gives me a duh look.
“I mean, besides me. Surely your body reacted in the past when you saw men… in movies, in magazines, in the locker room at school? Or maybe at work? Hell, when I was a teenager, I’d get a hard-on watching shaving commercials on TV. Guys with beards really do it for me.” I give him a pointed look.
He stares down at his glass. “I tried not to think about it.”
“That’s a shitty way to live.”
He shrugs. “I was used to it.”
God, I just want to walk around to his side of the bar, pull him into my arms, and kiss the hell out of him… show him what he’s been missing.
I do walk around the bar, but not to jump him. He watches me intently, his gaze so damn wary it kills me. He turns on his barstool to face me.
I stop just inches away from him. “In case you haven’t noticed, I’m really attracted to you, Tyler.”
He fights a grin. “I’ve noticed.”
I reach out and gently cup his face, my thumb brushing across his cheek. “I’d really love to kiss you right now.”
He blinks in response, and I can’t help smiling. We are starting over. I’m going to get another chance to do this right. I hold my breath as I wait for his reply.
He swallows hard. “I don’t know how to do this.”
“You don’t know how to kiss?” I laugh. “You’ve kissed women before, right?”
“Yes, but that was different.”
“I know. That’s the whole point.”
He smiles as he runs a hand through his hair, clearly nervous as hell.
I take the final step which brings me to stand between his spread knees. “Well, it pretty much works the same way when it’s two guys. My lips against yours. Yours against mine. It’s that simple.”
Tyler’s gaze goes to my mouth, and he sucks in a shaky breath. “You make it sound so easy.”
“It is.” I reach out and run my fingers through his hair, loving the feel of the strands sliding between my fingers.
He closes his eyes and groans.
When his eyes open again, I search his gaze. “Can you trust me? Can you do that?”
He rises to his feet and, we face each other. I swear to God he looks like he’s about to face an execution.
I slide one hand around to the back of his neck, my fingers threading through his hair. When I scrape my nails along his scalp, he shivers.
Slowly, I lean in until our lips brush lightly. He sucks in a sharp breath, his body tensing. My lips gently coax his open, and I press closer. I nudge his lips wider apart, and my tongue slips inside, just barely grazing his. I taste whiskey and spice. Our tongues meet timidly, our lips sliding over each other’s.
When he closes his eyes and moans, my cock swells. Fuck!
Baby steps. I step back with a pleased smile. “See, it is that easy.”
