Rocker (Cerberus MC #13) - Marie James Page 0,94

fingers dig into my back, knees pinned to the side of my hips like we’re somehow strapped together around the middle. I barely have room to move inside of her from the way she’s wrapped around me, and I fucking love every damn second of it.

“Are you with me?”

“Right here,” she whispers, her eyes dreamy and a little unfocused.

“I need you to come, baby. Can you come?”

She nods her head, and I already know I’m going to wear the crescent marks from her nails for days to come. I press deeper to earn more of those marks and the gasp that escapes her throat lights the wick that instantly puts us on a quick countdown timer.

“Baby,” I warn, pulling back and shoving forward again.

Push, swivel, swivel, pull.

Jesus, this woman is going to be the death of me.

“Callum,” she hisses on a moan, and even the warning isn’t enough to prepare me for the way she feels.

I lose count of the pulses of her core because by the time I make it to three I’m joining her over the edge.

Ragged breaths fill the room, and I swear my heart is going to pound right out of my chest.

I lick the racing pulse point in the hollow of her neck, making her clench around me once again.

And damned if my cock isn’t still hard.

She chuckles when I groan, her hips circling once again.

Fucking insatiable.

“We aren’t getting much sleep tonight?” I ask with a wide smile on my face.

“I want more.”

“Of course you do.” I press my lips to her neck, still unable to move from on top of her.

“But first can you grab me a snack?”

Chapter 36

Simone

“Thank you for coming in on such short notice.”

I smile at the woman behind the desk, my eyes darting down once again to the wooden name plate.

ROBIN HILL

Why can’t I retain that information?

“I was excited to get your call.” I shift in my seat. The dress I’m wearing barely hides my ever-growing belly. “I didn’t even put in an application with your bank.”

Honestly, I didn’t even consider working in a bank. Despite digging in my heels and arguing about working at the bar every time Jinx has brought up his displeasure in it, I’ve been looking for a different job for weeks.

I’ve applied at check cashing places and various offices around town—really any place that has air-conditioning and some form of benefits.

Robin doesn’t join me on my fishing expedition, so I’m left here happy to be called in for an interview but still unsure of how I landed here in the first place.

“You deal with large amounts of cash at your current place of employment?”

“Yes, ma’am.” My hands fist into knots on my lap.

“I imagine you can handle just about anything working at Jake’s.” Her smile is sweet as she looks down at the folder in her hands. “Sometimes the customers aren’t exactly happy to find out they’ve spent all of their money, and when their debit cards are compromised from buying sketchy stuff online with checkout apps that aren’t safe and verified, they tend to blame the bank for those mistakes.”

“I’m well versed in dealing with the unruly sort,” I offer.

“The bank is open from seven in the morning to five in the evening, but you would either open or close, not doing both in the same day. Are you able to work a full forty-hour week?”

Is that it? I usually clock nearly sixty hours a week at Jake’s.

“Yes, ma’am.” She looks up from her folder, that same soft smile on her lips.

I want to relax, really I do, but this entire day has been weird.

First, Rocker was gone when I woke up. The note he left said he had a meeting to get to, but it left me a little out of sorts, almost bereft to not wake up to his kisses. And I can admit I’m an addict for the man. Jinx wasn’t home either, leaving me alone in that huge place.

We’ve been there for nearly a week, and the sounds are different than they were at the apartment. Okay, so the sounds are absent. The neighborhood is quiet in the earlier morning, only coming alive around ten when the kids start to play outside. I’m not used to it. At the apartment, the neighbors would knock the wall, or we could hear people talking outside as they made their way to the parking lot.

Then I got the call from the lady in front of me to come in for an interview, and
