her feet, her legs instinctively going around my waist as I press her to the wall.

The kiss we share is filled with hope and promises, of a new future we can build together.

“Do you like the house?”

Her teeth dig into her lower lip. “I love it.”

I kiss her again, taking my time and making sure I do my best to say without words exactly what she means to me.

We’re both breathless when I pull away, spending several long minutes with our foreheads touching while we just exist in each other’s arms.

“And if you’re nice to me, then I might even consider letting you have a sleepover in my new room.”

Chapter 34

Simone

“Enough,” I tease, placing my hand over Rocker’s bouncing knee. “Why are you nervous?”

“Today’s a big day,” he replies.

“It is,” I confirm, looking at Jinx and rolling my eyes. “Men.”

“Don’t include me in that.” Jinx’s smile is just as wide. “You don’t see me vibrating so hard I’m nearly falling out of my seat.”

“You paced the floor all night. We couldn’t sleep because of it.”

Rocker winks at me, but I already know what’s coming.

“You two weren’t sleeping,” Jinx hisses. “Do you know how hard it is to sleep when you guys are in there moaning all damn night? How hard it is for me to not press my ear to the damn door?”

“So, you’re complaining that it bothers you or you’re mad that you can’t join?”

Rocker growls beside me. We still haven’t had sex, but that doesn’t stop the marathon of orgasms. Jinx is still the last man I technically had sex with, and I know that eats at Rocker daily.

“You know better,” Jinx snaps at his best friend. “I would never.”

“No?” Rocker snaps, but there’s no fire in his tone. “You wouldn’t?”

Jinx looks to me, a devious smile turning up his lips before looking back at his friend. “I can’t even lie. She has the sweetest pus—”

“I will kill you where you sit and punch any medical professional who tries to render aid.”

Jinx and I both laugh at Rocker’s reaction. It doesn’t take much to get a rise out of him these days, but I know for a fact that Jinx isn’t into me. He doesn’t flirt unless it’s to annoy his friend. He doesn’t give me suggestive looks or make me feel uncomfortable. That being said, I don’t think he’d turn down the chance to sleep with me again if he were given an honest chance, but that’s because the man isn’t selective. He loves to have sex, and he’s willing to stick his cock into just about any woman. He wouldn’t do it because there’s underlying emotion or some deep-seated connection. The man just likes to get off.

“Listening through the walls when she comes makes my cock so har—”

“Enough,” I hiss, looking around the room to see how many people are watching us. We always come to my appointments together and garner every eye in the room. In my mind I just tell myself it’s because the guys are smoking hot, but I know people probably have opinions about us. “He’s going to hurt you.”

Jinx winks at me before turning his attention to the receptionist behind the desk. He’s simply looking in her direction, but the woman can’t keep her eyes off him, and I know if he even tried, she’d be bent over his SUV in the parking lot during her lunch break.

“Simone Murphy?” a nurse calls from the door at the end of the room.

We all stand, my nerves ratcheting up the closer we get. Today is the twenty-week sonogram, and if Baby Jinx behaves, we’ll be able to find out what we’re having. Both men swear it’s a boy, and honestly, I’m hoping they’re right. I wouldn’t even know what to do with a daughter. I’m afraid my damage and distrust would rub off on a girl and damaging a child like that isn’t right.

My hands begin to shake as we walk into the darkened room.

“You wait outside,” Rocker says, a hand to Jinx’s chest before he can get fully inside the room.

“Not a fucking chance,” the man hisses.

“You’ll wait until they have that thing inside her and covered up before you come in,” Rocker instructs, but Jinx pushes past him.

“She’s twenty weeks, you idiot. They do an abdominal ultrasound.”

Rocker looks to the technician to confirm. “He’s right.”

Rocker issues a quick apology before coming to stand by my side.

“I see you’ve done some research,” the technician says, the flirtation clear in her voice.

“Being a
