Just as I was about to make my move, she dumped a cup of water over my head. I had no idea where it had come from. I was a little distracted.
“There. All done,” she said as she settled herself down on me.
I groaned in pleasure.
“This isn’t against the rules?” I teased her.
Her face scrunched up as it did when she was frustrated or trying to figure something out. “Grant and Micah said nothing about sex.” She was so matter-of-fact about it that I couldn’t help but grin at her.
My arms wrapped around her back and I nudged her closer so I could capture her mouth with mine.
I was a big guy and the tub made it difficult to move much. I wanted to carry her back to bed, and love her properly, but she was happy to take the lead for us, riding me until I exploded inside her, triggering her own orgasm.
She was hot, wet, and breathing heavily as she collapsed onto my chest.
“I still like orgasms the best.”
I smiled and kissed the top of her head. “Don’t worry, I’m not done with you yet, tonight.”

Alert, awake, and with constant access to my girl, I just might decide to never return to work. I was getting stronger each day and she encouraged me to restart workouts, as long as they weren’t leg days. Sit-ups, pushups, even some planks were all on her approved list. She even had Grant bring me some weights from the gym when I complained I needed something more.
Speaking of that traitor, he’d stopped by a handful of times to check on me. He even tried to tell Emma I could return to work now, but she wouldn’t hear of it. She lit into him about the rules he had set, and that jerk caved to my girl.
I was officially benched until my six days were up and Micah and Grant both agreed I could return. I still had a day and a half left.
I had to admit, the constant sex breaks were going to be hard to give up. Emma knew what she wanted and had no trouble asking for it. We were totally in sync.
She also loved routines as much as I did. It made the stress of the time off so much more manageable for me. The only time she altered her day was for sex. She called it pausing the plan, not changing it. I could definitely live with that.
“There’s a ladies’ night tonight. Shelby called and asked me to attend this week.”
“Do you want to go?”
“Yes, but I don’t want to leave you alone either.”
“How about I drive us into town and I’ll just go to the Crate for a beer while you enjoy your time with your friends? You’ve definitely earned it putting up with me.”
“I like putting up with you. It feels good and right to take care of you.”
I smiled, loving that I never had to guess where I stood with Emma. She was happy to tell me. There was no pretense about it. My heart felt lighter and I knew somewhere in the middle of my lockdown, I’d fallen in love with my mate. I couldn’t imagine my life without her now.
“So, do you want to go tonight?”
She sighed. “I don’t know. I’m not very good at fitting in.”
She was always so confident that I wasn’t used to seeing her insecure about herself.
“They’re going to love you.”
“I haven’t exactly had the best experiences with humans, remember?”
“And they aren’t exactly human, remember?” I smiled encouragingly. It would be good for her to get out and make friends. “Taylor will probably be there. I can call and find out. We could meet up with her beforehand and you could go together if it would help.”
She hesitated. “Okay. Are you sure you won’t need me?”
“I’ll be fine, sweetheart.”
“Could Grant stay with you?”
The last person I wanted to spend my evening with was Grant, but if it helped Emma relax, I would do it.
“I’ll call and see if he’s free.”
Would I ever be able to look into those big brown eyes and tell her no? I doubted it.

We were going to meet Grant and Taylor at the Crate. It was a local bar in San Marco. I hadn’t ventured out beyond the Lodge with the exception of that one night Painter and I spent in the woods. There was so much to see.
