Rage (Her Monsters Book One) - K.A Knight Page 0,95

manners, boy.” I rip it out and drop it to the ground.

He screams, his eyes bulging out, before he goes limp in my hand. Turning, I throw him at his friends and they shout as they go down under him. “Come on boys, look, I’ll even give you a fair chance,” I taunt, holding my hands behind my back and waiting for them to get to their feet.

Lo looks at the unconscious man and pales. He glances at me and back to the man, but the other one yells as he rushes forward, and he fires the net gun but I easily dodge it.

He grabs his other gun and aims and fires as he walks, bullet after bullet. I smell the flower, Yret, in the air and sigh. I concentrate on them as they near me and I manage to duck all but one, which embeds in my left arm, sending it to sleep right away, before crawling veins of agony start there. I need to end this now, he just royally pissed me off.

My dragon roars his agreement in my head and I narrow my eyes on the man. “Run. Run now, little human,” I warn.

He grapples with the gun, trying to reload, and I sprint at him, too fast for the poor human eye to see. Grabbing the gun out of his shaking hands, I aim it at his crotch and fire, making him scream before I place it to his forehead and shoot him between the eyes.

I drop the gun and turn to Lo who falls to his knees, crying already, and I haven’t even touched him. Crouching down, I tilt my head animalistically as I eye him.

“How do you keep finding me?” I growl.

He shakes his head, opening his mouth, but only a high-pitched noise comes out.

“Tell me and I will kill you quickly,” I offer.

He lets out a sob but nods, wiping his nose with his hand, obviously realising he isn’t getting out of this alive. A dragon always keeps his words, so I will offer him a quick death.

“Th-they are working with some people. People who knew you were back. They have—” He looks around before lowering his voice. “Witches with them, I didn’t even know they existed, but they traced you somehow and sent updates to our phones.”

Growling, I surge to my feet, making the human whimper and cower in fear. “Who, who are they working with?” I demand.

“I don’t know—I swear! Th-they call themselves The Others!” he screams.

I nod with my hands clenched into fists by my side. “Anything else?” I growl.

He recoils closer to the ground. “We are the only team on this side right now, we are normally spread out so it’s taking a while for them to recall them to go after you.”

I blow out a breath, and smoke curls from my nose and he screams. “Thank you,” I growl in a mix between human and dragon, before I reach forward and snap his neck.

Turning around, I spot the other man. He is on his knees with his hands covering his mouth as he tries to scream. I step forward and lift him to his feet by his hair, and once he is standing, I punch my hand through his chest and crush his heart.

Pulling my arm back, I let him drop to the earth before admiring all my hard work. Frowning at the blood and bits of bone covering my arm, I look around and sigh before leaning down and ripping off the rest of the man’s shirt. I use the rag to clean my arm before dropping it on top of his corpse.

I walk back to the cars and stop at theirs to do a search. I check two of their phones but like they said, they are burners and not much good. The only other items are fast food wrappers and some weapons. Sighing, I leave their car on the side of the road for their hunter brethren to find as I make my way back to mine.

I was going to head straight to Dawn, but with a witch tracer on me, I can’t. First, I need to find a witch I can trust to break it, and fast before the hunters find me again, because this time they will be bringing reinforcements.

I throw the human scum at the pipe in the corner of the basement, before I stomp down after him and quickly tie him up while he’s unconscious. On the way back here he’d
