Rage (Her Monsters Book One) - K.A Knight Page 0,90

man’s again, and Griffin growls. “Vasculo,” he warns. I want to push him, I want to see if he will stop me, what he’ll do. He thinks skinwalkers are below him, maybe a little part of me wants to disgust him, or see if I can.

Griffin pushes away from the wall, and the next thing I know he disappears into black mist before appearing behind me. He grabs my head and pulls it back, and the man under me gasps, sucking in breaths and shaking.

Griffin growls and I meet his blue, swirling eyes in the mirror and my own face, with black eyes, reflects there as well. He wraps my hair around his fist and tugs back so my neck is stretched in a thin line, and the pain makes me moan.

“I said no,” he growls.

I fight his hold and he swears before reaching down and throwing me over his shoulder. He spins me around and I watch as the man slumps before falling to the floor, throwing me a pale-faced, terrified look as he cries and he tries to crawl away, but Nos blocks his exit.

“Why don’t you calm our mate down? I will make sure this parasite doesn’t die.” I grin at Nos and he blows me a kiss as Griffin strides through the hallway back to a different door. He kicks it in and I only catch a glimpse of a fancy office before I’m thrown onto a wooden desk.

Laying back, my legs parted, I watch as he glares at me. That swirling mist still circles him, obscuring my vision of his legs and arms, and his eyes sparkle blue as he watches me. “I told you, we need him alive,” he grits out, his hands slamming on the desk next to me, pinning me in.

I relax into the wood and grin at him. “So?”

“So, you can’t fucking kill him! Control your fucking instincts!” he yells, his face red.

“Like you do?” I ask sweetly, and he sucks in a breath before glaring down at me, his face set in a warning.

“Vasculo, I mean it. Do not push me, not right now,” he growls, his voice guttural, and the next thing I know his wings have burst out of his back. I look at his arms next to my head on the wood to see them shaking.

He’s fighting himself, trying to control those instincts that he accused me of giving into, but I was in control all the time. I wanted to see what it took for him to lose it, and it looks like I’m about to find out.

Reaching up, I grip his cheeks and lift his face, wetting my lips at the death and destruction I see in his eyes. It’s like the night before, when I found him hurting himself. I can almost taste the madness, and I want more.

He turns his face away as the shadows in the room trying to conceal his face from me and I growl, gripping it harder and turning it back to me.

“Or what?” I grin, showing him how little I care about what he is. I want him, that’s all there is to it.

“Dawn,” he warns, those eyes like lightning, shooting through the room.

I want to find out what it feels like to be in the middle of his storm.

“Coward,” I prod, and it does the trick.

He grabs me from the desk and I gasp as it feels like the whole world is spinning. Looking into his eyes, I see the mist swirling around as he moves us across the room. My back meets the bookcase hard and the mist retreats. His hand darts out, curling around my neck and squeezing as he growls, his eyes completely blue now.

“I warned you.” He grins, and jerks his head to the side before looking back at me. Nothing but madness lives in his gaze now, just like last night, but ten times more and I moan, winding my legs around his waist as his wings flutter behind him, blocking all the light and the rest of the room until all I can see is him.

He squeezes harder, cutting off my breathing, and leans in as he licks up my face like I did to the man out there. “You are mine. I wanted to rip the fucking beating heart out of that man for tasting you,” he whispers seductively, sounding so sweet as he breathes his madness across me.

Gasping in the little air I can, I close my eyes as
