Queen Of Sins - Stephanie Hudson Page 0,65

could be seen was the rising shadows behind as if each of them was growing into something truly monstrous.

“Caspian, I think it's time we show Amelia here just what we’re made of.” Caspian nodded with a grunt in answer before bending over and curling in on himself as if drawing forth his own power, but he wasn't the only one, as an almighty roar of three bellowed from the veil of cloud that covered them.

“Go, my brothers! Take what is yours back from the Devil who stole it from you! FIGHT FOR ME!” Matthias shouted with a disconcerting, sinister grin on his face. This was all that was needed before three bodies erupted from the bellows of smoke that contained them and suddenly, we were faced with three giant men standing at least ten feet tall!

“Oh shit!” I cried, as each of them had been split from the confines set against them years ago. Now, as their own version of themselves, they ran at us across the vast space of the temple. Yet, despite this change in their appearance and giving them back use of their own limbs, it was still not enough to change them completely. As one was still blind, one was still deaf, and one could not speak. This was thanks to the damage that remained from where the hands of its brothers had once been forced to incapacitate the senses. The one who could not speak had his jaw hung useless and broken. The one whose fingers had once been embedded in its eye sockets, only had bloody holes left gaping and beyond use. The same went for the one who was deaf, as his ears had been completely torn off. However, each of them had their own monstrous bodies that were charging straight at us.

This was when all Hell broke loose.

Starting when Clay forced me back with an arm banded across my chest, one that had already started to change into something else.

“Stay back, little bird, let us handle this,” he told me as his voice turned into one that became deep enough to have belonged to the Devil himself.

“But look! What are we going to do! There is only the three of us!” I shouted, knowing that I would need to get a grip and join in the fight. But then Clay took a step away from me and looked over his shoulder, telling me,

“Yes, but I am not only one man.” Then he winked at me as those unusual navy-blue eyes seeped into the whites of his eyes and the whites took over the iris. This swapped the two around and left something more demonic in its place. Then the rest of him started to change, as power rippled across his dark body like something was moving underneath his skin. He roared as he threw his body backwards as if his spine was being cracked back at an unnatural angle. His head was so far back that if he had opened his eyes, he would have been able to see behind him as his neck grew thicker and longer.

“Gods,” I uttered, then as I briefly took my eyes off him, I saw Caspian had completed his change and was now running into the three brothers who now resembled demonic warrior giants. However, due to thousands of years relying on each other, their movements were subdued and shaky as they hadn’t walked without the aid of their brothers. They banged and knocked into the sides of their kin like giant lumpy toddlers taking their first steps as they tried to charge towards us.

Their skin was like old baked leather that split at the increase of muscles beneath, and huge growths that looked like tumours mottled the surface all over their bodies. What little cloth was left from their change clung to parts of them in strips, reminding me of Bruce Banner when he changed into the Hulk. Although, purple pants wouldn’t have helped in making these guys look any better or any less gruesome, that was for damn sure!

But these shaky steps then meant that Caspian had a greater advantage as he was more than steady… oh, and he was also a freaking Minotaur!

“No way!” I uttered, in complete awe at the sight of what Caspian was. Most of his body was covered in that same wiry silver hair that had looked so unusual in his mortal form. But not like this. Hair that was thicker at his back, running from the top of
