mind?” Dom asked through gritted teeth, making me backflip to my feet and tell him,
“Not exactly.”
So far, neither girl had said anything, but I had to say, out of the two of them, Keira was the one who seemed more out for blood. I knew this the moment that Dom was picked up by the blinding white force that consumed Keira’s body. She looked like an avenging Angel and threw him into the side of the mountain we were fighting against. As for Amelia, she seemed to be enjoying herself, and I had to question why.
As for the battle, it continued on behind us, with a deafening sound of battle cries, demonic bellows of anger, and the screams of those that were moments away from being slain. This was combined with the ear-splitting sound of Abaddon trying to break his way out of Tartarus, where Lucifer and Asmodeus fought to keep him. It had to be said that Lucifer could lay one hit on such a beast and the force of it managed to knock him back a step. But, then again, a single punch from a God had the ability to do much more damage than just break your nose. Now, as for Amelia, I felt my blood trickling down my face more than once, and like Dom, we spent our time trying to block and pin them down to catch a breath.
But then I also noticed that Amelia kept looking back at Matthias, and this made me furious.
“What's the matter, sweetheart, looking for the pussy whipped asshole that has girls fight his battles for him?” I threw at her angrily, trying to tell myself that it wasn't actually her fault, but feeling the irrational need to say these things in my anger. Then, as soon as she saw that he was out of sight, obviously having enough time to enjoy seeing her trying to kick my ass, she suddenly threw herself flat against the rocks. Then, I watched as a darkness overtook her, and this was when my fear doubled.
“Amelia!” I shouted her name running over to her, and as soon as Dom was thrown this way, like some fucking winged ragdoll, he managed to ask,
“What's wrong with her!?” This was before Keira was at him once more, punching her fist into the rock he just managed to move his face from in time. Thankfully, he was the only one that she wanted, and she snarled his way, once more engaging in the fight. So much for a happy marriage, I thought wryly.
But back to my girl, who was now looking more demonic in nature by the second. Her skin was starting to look grey, and her veins looked to be filled with a black poison. Was this the work of Matthias?!
“Amelia!” I shouted her name again, this time braving taking her by the arms and giving her a shake, bracing myself for her wrath for doing so. A few moments later, she seemed to snap out of whatever had consumed her, before punching me in the face and knocking me flat on my ass. I groaned, getting back up to my feet after spitting the blood on the floor, then I cracked my nose back into place so it would heal without me looking like a dickhead.
After all, my girl liked me handsome, and I would have preferred to stay that way.
“That was a sneaky move, sweetheart,” I told her, but then she ran at me, jumping at the last moment to wrap her legs around my waist and propelling her body round, taking me off my feet. It was in this moment that she landed on top of me, then she pinned my arms to the ground, and said,
“All's fair in love and war, lover boy.” Then, as I was still left stunned beyond words, she lowered down and kissed me quickly, before whispering,
“Remember, you’re not the only one who can act.” Then she slapped me on the chest and demanded,
“Now, get your ass up, handsome, we have an asshole to kill!” My mouth fell open in shock as she spun out of the way. I finally got to my feet, grabbing her hand and pulling her back to me.
“You were faking it?” She smirked at this and said,
“Don’t worry, honey, the battlefield is the only place I would do that.” Then she winked, making me fucking laugh, the last emotion I thought possible of emerging during this time!
