stressed me out. Not you.”

“But I didn’t help, and I’m sorry.”

He lifted my chin up and planted a soft kiss on my lips. “I forgive you. I don’t forgive her.”

And then, because the devil heard her name, Juss’ phone rang again. He groaned at the number. “Want me to block her?” I asked.

He nodded, so I ended the call and took some screenshots of her numerous attempts to contact him, then the text messages, which were all variations of the least you could do is answer my calls and how dare you, and then, with great satisfaction, I blocked her number.

“Done.”

He smiled ruefully. “Thank you. I didn’t know how to do it and didn’t want to press her name and accidentally dial her instead.”

I put my arms around him and buried my face against his arm. It was never easy to make cutting off a family member official, and even though he’d wanted to do it, it still had to sting. “I’m sorry, baby.”

“Don’t be. I’m not.”

I looked up at him. “Not even a little?”

He shook his head. “This is her doing, not mine. She disowned me first. Now I’m just returning the favour. And anyway, remember how you said we choose our own family?”

I nodded.

“Well, I’ve chosen mine.” He kissed me soundly. Then he picked up my fork and stabbed some meat and brought it to my lips. “Open wide.”

I laughed and he shoved the fork in my mouth. “You’re gonna feed me?” I asked.

“For all the times you helped me, now it’s your turn.”

He continued to feed me until my plate was empty and he even had some more of his own. It was fun and cute, we laughed a lot, and it had been far too long since we’d done anything fun and cute. The fact that he punctuated every forkful with a kiss made it even better.

He put the fork down and turned his full attention to me. “You know,” he said with a kiss. “I slept a lot today, so I’m not too tired.”

I chuckled because I was pretty sure I knew where he was going with this. “Is that so?”

He kissed me again, a little softer, more playful. “And we did get those test results back.”

I hummed, not too sure if he was up for anything rigorous. “You’re supposed to be on bed rest.”

He smiled. “So take me to bed.”

Chapter Eleven

I certainly wasn’t going to say no. I wanted Juss to feel good to replace the pain he lived with, even just for a while. He’d been getting better over the last three days, but he still wasn’t anywhere near back to good.

“Are you sure?”

He nodded quickly. “I trust you.”

Given he was still sitting on my lap, I picked him up as I stood, making him laugh. I carried him to our room and laid him on the bed, then climbed up his body and gently laid my weight on him.

His smile and the way he chewed on his bottom lip told me he was fine, but I had to be careful of his injuries. He spread his legs, slowly moving his right leg, and I froze. “Juss.”

He held my gaze. “I want this.”

God, the fierceness in his eyes was so familiar, but still so new. “We’ll just take small steps, baby. We don’t need to go too far. I just want to make you feel good.”

He flexed his hips, grinding our erections together. “I already feel good, Dall. I want you to make me come.”

I kissed him. “That I can do.” I went to kiss him again, but he stopped me. I worried that I’d hurt him. “What is it?”

“We need to be naked first. Both of us. Right now.”

I laughed, because that was such a Justin thing to say. I would never tire of seeing snippets of the real him.

But I obeyed and undressed him first, then myself, and crawled back under the covers with him. I moved on top of him again and he was quick to pull me in for a kiss, and we soon found a rhythm. Our cocks slid against each other and Juss rolled his hips. I grinded in an ebb and flow of desire and love.

He bent his left leg, giving me more room and making himself open for me. I could so easily push into him from this position, and he knew it. He dug his fingernails and I had to stop myself from thrusting into him. I pulled back with a laugh and sat
