Obsessed (The Protectors #13) - Sloane Kennedy Page 0,31
the words wouldn't come. Nor, surprisingly, did my body push past him so it could continue to its ultimate target. We stood there in this strange kind of suspended animation, our eyes locked and our bodies just inches apart. Why wasn't he moving? Why wasn't he running away?
Why wasn't I telling him to flee?
"Matias," Sam said softly, his voice barely above a whisper. My whole body began to shake with need.
But with the need for what exactly?
"Matias," the man before me repeated and then suddenly, his skin was on mine. It felt like I was moving in slow motion as I turned to watch his fingers slide down the length of my arm. His touch sent shivers through me. Not of rage, but of something else. Something stronger. I knew in that instant what I needed.
Sam's fingers trailed over my wrist and finally came to a stop over my fisted hand. "You don't need this," he murmured. My heart felt like it was going to slam out of my chest as he eased my grip on the hammer open until it landed with a thud in the grass. I expected Sam to step back at that point. To at least grab the hammer and move it away from me so I couldn’t use it on his beloved shed. But to my surprise, his fingers once again linked with mine like they had when we’d been sitting on the picnic table. “You don’t need it,” Sam repeated as he lifted our joined hands.
My chest seized when he positioned my arm around his waist. I told myself I was reading the move all wrong… that he was just going to hug me or something. But my addled mind only saw it as him giving me one thing.
Permission.
I let out an ungodly snarl as all my rage and need converged. I dragged Sam forward at the same time that I slammed my mouth down on his. He let out a little whimper that I thought could have been a protest of sorts, but when his fingers tangled in my hair and gripped it hard, I wasn’t so certain. Then he began kissing me back.
And all doubt was instantly erased.
I groaned into Sam’s mouth as his tongue danced with mine.
But I wasn’t interested in dancing. I wanted one thing and one thing only.
I walked Sam backwards several steps until his back hit the wall of the shed behind him. I pinned his arms above his head as I took complete and total possession of his mouth. The kiss was carnal at best. I waited for Sam to turn his head away because it was too much… because I was too much. But he met me kiss for kiss and it wasn’t long before I realized that as much as I was owning him in that moment, he was claiming me just the same.
When I was finally forced to tear my mouth from his just so we could each suck in some air, I pressed my forehead against his. My cock throbbed painfully in my jeans. All the rage Sam had effectively cast from my body with a single touch had been replaced with an obscene level of need that frightened me. I’d come to accept that my rage was sometimes beyond my control, but I’d never had that same problem with my desire.
I covered Sam’s mouth with mine again as I tried to get control of myself, but it was useless. Sam continued to kiss me back, but it didn’t take long before it wasn’t enough anymore. I dragged my mouth from his and gripped his chin firmly between my fingers.
“Be sure,” I practically snarled. “No regrets this time.”
Sam’s eyes were glazed over with passion. His damp lips parted as he tried to make sense of my words. When realization dawned, I found myself holding my breath.
I knew what his response would be seconds before he opened his mouth because his nimble fingers were stroking the back of my neck and they tightened just the tiniest bit right before he nodded and whispered, “No regrets.”
Chapter 12
Sam
The last syllable hadn’t even cleared my lips before Matias shifted into action. His mouth crashed down onto mine again at the same time that his hands dropped to my ass. Using his entire body, he pressed me back against the side of the shed. “Hold on to me,” he barked against my mouth.
I already had my arms wrapped around his neck, so I wasn’t sure what he meant
