Lucky Strike (Super Harem #1) - Catherine Banks Page 0,63

fan of sweets,” Austin said and shrugged.

“That just means more for me,” I said and smiled at him.

He returned my smile.

“What’s your favorite?” Crystal asked me.

“Strawberry ice cream with chocolate chips, gummy bears, sprinkles, and chocolate sauce,” Marvin answered as he rejoined us.

“Marvin! This food is delicious!” I exclaimed.

He smiled. “I’m glad it’s to your liking, Lucky.”

“Why do they keep calling you that?” Hurricane asked.

I sighed. “I don’t know. Tyson started it.”

“It fits her,” Tyson said and shrugged.

“It does,” Vortex agreed.

“Please, you four are the lucky ones. I can’t imagine what it would be like to have to deal with you four as boyfriends,” Crystal said and scoffed.

“We are lucky,” Hurricane agreed. “Some of us more so than others.”

I looked at him, but he was looking down while cutting a piece of his chicken.

What had he meant by that? Was he talking about himself being lucky I took him back? Or was he talking about Tyson being lucky I would consider dating a villain?

“After you finish your food and relax a bit in the lounge, I’ll bring dessert,” Marvin said.

“What’s for dessert?” I asked, my excitement slipping through despite how hard I tried to stop it.

He winked. “You’ll have to wait and see.”

“Can you make us those drinks?” I asked him. “Pretty please!”

He bowed. “Certainly. Who would all like one?”

“Me!” Crystal and Alura shouted.

“You don’t even know what they are,” Tremor commented.

“If she likes it then it’s probably tasty,” Crystal said and nodded at me.

“They’re delicious!” I almost shouted.

“Make it for the ladies and for the rest of us, my usual,” Tyson ordered Marvin.

He nodded and left.

“You’re so spoiled,” Alura whispered.

I smiled. “Yep.”

I was well aware how spoiled I was currently and I was going to enjoy it while it lasted.

“Lucky bitch,” Crystal muttered.

I winked at her, and then we both started laughing.

After finishing our meals, we headed inside to a room I hadn’t seen before. It had several large, plush couches, a bar with bar stools, and a huge TV.

Alura and Crystal sat on each side of me on one of the large couches, forcing the guys to share couches or sit on the bar stools.

Marvin brought us our drinks and Alura, Crystal, and I sipped on our sugary deliciousness with closed eyes.

“So good,” Alura whispered.

“I told you,” I whispered back.

“I didn’t expect it to be this good,” Crystal whispered.

“Why are they whispering?” Tremor asked.

“Don’t ask me how women think,” Black Hole said. “I have no idea.”

“You’re being too loud,” Tyson said. “You’re going to ruin their quiet enjoyment of their sugar.”

I smiled. “He gets it.”

“How did you manage to catch a guy like that?” Crystal asked.

“Sheer dumb luck,” I said.

“Kidnapping,” Alura said and then coughed and laughed at the same time.

“What?” Crystal asked.

“Ignore her, she’s drunk,” I grumbled.

“Kidnapping is how she and I met,” Austin said. “I was sent to rescue her from some guys wanting to use her for ransom.”

“That’s the day you got your powers, right?” Crystal asked.

I opened my eyes and nodded. “Stupid OSHA violations.”

“How did you meet her?” Crystal asked Tyson.

He looked at me, smiling softly, and it was one of the first times I could one hundred percent say I saw love in someone’s eyes. “Cobalt actually introduced me to her, and I became enraptured by her. I kept making excuses to see her and then he finally made a mistake and allowed me to make my move.”

I looked down at my hands. Thinking about Cobalt still didn’t make me sad and I worried what that said about me, but we did have to deal with death often in our lives, so maybe it was just that.

My head snapped up. “Wait. Did you say you kept making up excuses to see me? You never told me that!”

He shrugged. “I didn’t want to admit how head over heels I was for you before. Now, I’m comfortable admitting it.”

“So, one of those times you...picked me up, was just because you wanted to see me?” I asked, almost admitting he kidnapped me.

He nodded. “A few times, actually.”

“Why didn’t you just say something to me?” I asked softly.

He arched a brow. “You know why.”

Right, because he was a villain.

I realized everyone was staring at us and chuckled nervously. “Sorry. Um, so what are your guys’ plans for the rest of the weekend?”

“Shopping!” Alura and Crystal shouted.

I sighed and shook my head. “I refuse.”

“Oh, come on!” Alura said and stuck her bottom lip out in a pout. “Please.”

“No. The last time I went with you, you made me
