Lucius (Acquisition Series #4) - Celia Aaron Page 0,52

even deeper, I cry out and come again. This one’s deeper and shorter, but no less powerful.

“I can feel you, Evie. Your cunt wants to milk me.” He thrusts so hard the bed shakes. “Take it.” His cock kicks, and I feel his release spurting inside me. “Take it all like a good girl.”

My orgasm crests again in a final burst of bliss. It leaves me a boneless mess as I sink down into the bed. His come leaks down my inner thighs, but I don’t care. Not when I’ve just been fucked into two delicious orgasms.

He leans over my back and presses a kiss between my shoulder blades. “Good girl.”

Why does that stupid phrase make me go all weak? I should protest, should tear him down and inform him I’m not a dog. But the way he says it, god! The gritty way he praises me as he gives me pleasure and takes his own—I already crave it.

And I let him come inside me. I groan.

“What?” He falls beside me and pulls me to him.

“We just—”

“Lived out our rage-sex dreams with each other?” he fills in.

“Went bareback,” I correct.

“Yeah. I know. But—” He takes my chin and pulls me to face him. “There was no way I was going to pull out. Not with you. Not with us.”

“I’m on birth control.”

“Okay.”

I squint. “Okay?”

“Yeah.” He is completely at ease. Smug almost.

“Like it doesn’t matter to you either way?”

“It doesn’t. Look, I’m locked in here, Evie. You and me. I told you before we got down to business that this is forever.”

“What if I don’t want you to be my forever?”

He laughs, the sound low and so damn sexy. “Of course you do. Just look at me.”

“God, I’m right back to wanting to punch you.” I start to scoot away from him, but he doesn’t let me go.

“You can punch me as long as you don’t leave me.” He runs his fingers through my hair. “Your roots are showing. I love that color. And you have it down below to matc—”

“Honestly!” I wrinkle my nose.

“What?” He kisses my wrinkled nose. “I like it.”

Could this be real? Am I lying here with the man I wanted to kill—and will probably still want to kill from time to time—actually having a conversation about a real future?

I sigh and relax onto him, his heart thumping powerfully beneath my cheek. “You really want children?”

“With you? Yeah.”

“What if this is just a passing fascination because of—”

“No.” He pulls me up his body until we’re eye-to-eye. “I’ve never been surer of anything in my life.”

My eyes water, and I feel so damn exposed. Like a creature without a shell.

“Hey.” He kisses me softly, warmly—in a way I thought he wasn’t capable of. “I’m sure of you, Evie. I’m an asshole, a fucking deviant. I know that. I’ve always known it. But you are my downfall. You make me want to be more than a fucked-up monster. Not saying I can be, but you’re the only one who’s ever convinced me to try. All right?”

I nod and kiss him back, because for once, I’m not alone.

And for once, I don’t want to be.

“What now?” I sip my coffee as Lucius, shirtless and with his pajama pants slung low, tries to make breakfast.

“Now, food.” He cracks an egg into the pan, but some bits of eggshell make it in. He opens the trash can to dump the whole thing, but the egg is stuck to the pan.

“Shit.” He jiggles it, trying to get it to come off, but it doesn’t. I grin behind my coffee cup. He tosses the pan into the sink and grabs another from beneath the stove.

“I take it you don’t cook much?” I stand and walk over to him. I’m wearing one of his button-up shirts with nothing underneath.

“I can cook.” He stares at the stove as if he’s trying to remember test answers. “I’ve made macaroni and cheese plenty of times, not to mention peanut butter and jellies.”

“Impressive.”

He gives me a sideways glance. “Your sarcasm is noted and ignored.”

“Sit down.” I point with the spatula.

“What? You know how to cook? I thought you were career woman extraordinaire, out to tear apart businesses and put them back together.”

I walk to the fridge and look inside. Neat, orderly, barely touched. Grabbing some butter, I return to the stove and take the fresh pan, put in a pat, and turn the flame to medium.

He comes up behind me and puts his hands on my hips beneath the
