Love Like Her (Against All Odds #3) - Claudia Y. Burgoa Page 0,37

of you.

Eros: Remind me never to introduce you to my sisters.

Liv: I might send her a Dear Abby letter.

Dear Persy, I have this friend whose sister always talks about her brother on her blog or podcast. Is there a way she can tell more embarrassing stories on the air?

Sincerely,

Eros’s Friend.

Eros: Can I cancel our friendship?

Liv: You could, but then your life will be filled with sadness. Who will you reach out to when you want to complain about your sisters?

Eros: I’m going to stay in Costa Rica forever. That way, neither one of you can bug me.

Liv: I’ll find you.

Eros: Empty promises. How’s Boston?

Liv: Still a mess. I was there last week. On the plus side, I got to see Holly. I’m trying to convince her husband to work for me. He’s an architect.

Eros: If there’s anything I can do to help you, let me know.

Liv: Why don’t you upload those pictures so we can talk about them. That’ll keep my mind busy and away from work.

Eros: Nyx is having a girl!

Liv: That’s so exciting!

Eros: Yes, it is. She’s coming to Colorado with Nate. Persy’s birthday is this weekend. She and Ford are moving to their new house.

Liv: Sounds like fun. I’ve always wanted to be at a big family reunion.

Eros: Why haven’t you been to one?

Liv: Dad doesn’t have siblings or cousins. Grandma died when I was nine. Dan’s family lives on the East Coast. The years I was with them, we never went to visit them. Mom’s family never organized one. I visited my grandmother twice a month and during the holidays when I was in Canada and she was alive.

Eros: When we were younger, we visited my grandparents every holiday. They always organized big parties. One day I’ll bring you over so you can have the Brassard experience. A word of caution, we’re not easy.

Liv: I already figured that out. How’s the company?

Eros: Going well. Gil is in Costa Rica, giving me a hand. It’s the first time I’ve seen him excited about something that’s not an archeological discovery.

Liv: So, I was watching this documentary about the ruins of Machu Picchu with Charles Gil. He looked familiar.

Eros: He’s my godfather.

Liv: That’s what I thought. So, his last name is Gil?

Eros: Yes. I’ve no idea why everyone calls him by his last name.

Liv: I hate to stop this chat, but I have a meeting.

Eros: It’s a shame that you can’t multitask.

Liv: I can but not when Dad is in the meeting. He knows when I’m a little distracted. Talk to you soon.

Eros: I’ll text you later tonight.

Chapter Nineteen

Eros: We’re going to visit Callie.

Liv: I’ve been wondering what you guys were going to do with the information you gathered from the PI.

Liv: Do you think it’ll be best if your parents go with you?

Eros: The last time my mom tried to contact Callie, my sister was horrible with her. I want to speak with her first.

Liv: Good luck. I hope you can rebuild the relationship you guys had with her.

Eros: It’ll be great if she can at least visit before Nyx has her baby.

Liv: That reminds me, have they come up with any names for the baby yet?

Eros: No. Nyx and Nate keep calling her blueberry.

Liv: I think that’s sweet. April can’t get here any sooner. You have to send me pictures of her.

Eros: I keep sending you pictures of everything I do. You never send me any.

Liv: I could send you pictures of my computer.

Eros: You said the other day that you were going to a bar.

Liv: To barre.

Eros: Ah, that makes more sense. For a moment I thought you started drinking too early. I can use a picture of you practicing.

Liv: Ha! Keep waiting for it, Mr. Brassard. :wink emoji:

Eros: A guy can always hope. Hey, can I text you back after the plane takes off?

Liv: You’re already leaving for Boston?

Eros: Yes. I’m meeting Nate in New York, and we’re flying to Boston tomorrow morning. I’ll contact you soon.

Eros: Meet Nova Juliet Brassard.

Liv: Ooh, she’s so pretty. Congratulations, Uncle Eros.

Liv: Wait, wasn’t she supposed to be born next month?

Eros: She came a few weeks sooner. What can I say? The kid is as impatient as her mother. I should be running away from her.

Liv: You complain now, but she’s going to have you wrapped around her little finger.

Eros: She already has. I love that sweet girl.

Liv: How is everyone?

Eros: Mom and baby are doing well.

Liv: I want to cuddle her.

Eros: Fly to Seattle.

Liv: I wish I could.
