you here!”

“Then what is it? And don’t pretend like it’s nothing. I don’t like being lied to.”

Bailey sighed and walked over to the window. “I’ll make a deal with you. I’ll be honest, but after a shower and some soup, and when we’re lying in my bed. I’m tired, overwhelmed, and honestly, I could use a good cuddle.”

“Deal.” Logan went back to Bailey’s side and wrapped his palm around Bailey’s neck. The marks he’d made the night before stood out in stark contrast to Bailey’s pale skin. Logan leaned in and brushed his nose over them, leaving behind his scent.

Bailey sighed and moved his head to the side. The sign of submission wouldn’t have meant anything to another human, but Logan’s wolf preened at the show of trust.

Logan stepped back before he started something more. He took off his shirt, then knelt and untied his boots, pulled them off, and put them near the bedroom door. He’d made the mistake the previous night of scattering his clothes everywhere.

Before he got further distracted, Logan put his phone on the nightstand and then took off the rest of his clothes. Bailey stood by the shower, one hand on the curtain, watching his movements with a soft smile.

“What?”

Bailey shrugged. “You move around like it’s your place.”

“What’s yours is mine.”

Bailey snorted and pulled the curtain open. “We’re not there yet.”

“Oh, come on. Tell me that fine ass of yours isn’t mine. Go on. Try to convince me.”

Bailey laughed and climbed into the shower. “My ass isn’t anyone’s but mine. And what the hell are we even saying. You’re so weird.”

Logan got in the shower and crowded Bailey back beneath the warm stream of water. “Mine.”

“You’re just trying to make me laugh. It’s not going to work.”

“Oh really? Challenge accepted.” Logan grabbed Bailey and jerked him forward, then proceeded to blow a giant raspberry on his neck.

Bailey squealed and tried to wiggle away, but Logan held him firmly.

When he finally raised his head, the dark shadows had disappeared from Bailey’s eyes. They sparkled with amusement, and Logan grinned in response. “Told ya.”

“Why do I find you so attractive again?”

“Will says I’m Hollywood action-star hot. So that’s probably it.”

“That’s definitely it.”

Logan’s lip twitched, but he fought back a smile. “I mean, how could you not want this? I’m a glorious specimen.”

“You’re so full of crap, it’s no wonder your eyes are brown.”

Logan laughed and pulled Bailey against him. “I am. No one else will call me on it, though. Think about that for a second while I take care of that fine ass of yours.”

Bailey snorted but then moaned when Logan traced his fingers over Bailey’s entrance. “See, it’s even trying to say hello.”

“You are so weird.”

“You said that already.” Logan dipped his finger into Bailey’s hole, then pulled away and reached for the bottle of bodywash sitting nearby.

“It bears repeating,” Bailey grumbled as he leaned his head back and let the water pour over his hair. He swiped the bottle from Logan’s hand and poured some into his palm before giving it back.

Logan took some as well, then began washing Bailey’s chest and shoulders while Bailey soaped up his hair. It didn’t take long before Logan was distracted by all the little marks he’d left behind. He touched each of them again, grinning at the little skips Bailey’s heart made with each caress.

“My friends said you mauled me.”

“I did.”

Bailey poked him in the ribs before wiggling around and guiding Logan under the spray. “You don’t have to sound so proud about it.”

“Why? I am proud of it. We were good together.”

Bailey’s heart did the thing again. He looked up and seemed to process Logan’s words. “We were, weren’t we?”

“Yep.”

Logan relaxed into Bailey’s touch, letting the stress of the day spent unsuccessfully hunting wash away. Bailey’s scent calmed as well, and when they were both clean, Logan turned off the water as Bailey grabbed them each a towel. After they dried off, Logan wrapped his damp towel around his waist. Bailey took a pair of boxers out of his dresser, then looked over at Logan with a smile.

“Want something to wear?”

“I’m fine naked.”

“Yeah. Yeah, you are. But have some boxers anyway, ’cause otherwise I’m not going to do anything but stare at your dick.”

“And this is a problem why?”

Bailey grinned and threw a pair of boxers at him.

Logan dropped his towel and grinned back. “You sure?”

“Nope. Not sure at all. I’m questioning all my life choices right now. Stay naked. Forever. Yep. Do that.”

Logan laughed and
