and talented she was, then turned right around and flirted with Joey. To make matters worse, he’d also winked at Bailey before asking him if he wanted to hook up later.

As if.

“Bails? Did you fall asleep?”

“No,” Bailey grunted. “And why did she call him? Didn’t we decide we hated him?”

“What are we, Mean Girls?”

Bailey grunted again. “It was the royal we.”

“No, it wasn’t. Besides, Heather said he’s hung like a horse, so it was worth it. Not gonna lie, I was tempted when he offered to buy me a drink.”

Bailey groaned. Footsteps approached, alerting him to Ashley’s presence, and then his mattress sunk as she sat down beside him.

He whimpered. “Make it stop.”

“Gimme the phone,” Ashley said grumpily.

Bailey happily handed it over.

“Whoever this is, I will ki—oh hey, Will. Uh-huh. Oh, that sucks. Sure, we’ll get up and come meet you guys. Give us a half hour.”

“Noooo,” Bailey whined. “Sleep more.”

She tugged the covers down and grinned at him. “But Bails, I’m hungry.” She did the little lip-wobble thing.

He knew it was a ploy. She was an actress, for God’s sake. But he huffed and sat up anyway. “Fine.”

“Works every time.”

“Uh-huh. You just think you know me. You don’t know me.”

She let out a very loud snort before wandering over to his closet. “I’m stealing something to wear.”

“’Kay. I’m going to—”

“You’re going to get up, take a piss, brush your teeth, and get dressed.”

Bailey grunted again. “I don’t like mornings.”

“Aww. Poor baby. I figured you’d have really nice dreams about Sir Hunks A Lot.”

“Sir what now?”

“Oh, Logan. Touch my neck again, Logan. Stare at me with your penetrating eyes, Logan, before you penetrate me.”

Bailey laughed. He couldn’t help it. “You’re so mean.”

“I’m not mean. You’re mean. Shut up.”

He laughed again and climbed off the bed. After pushing her out of the way, he found clothes for both of them. Thank goodness for unisex gym wear that had adjustable waistbands.

Ashley took a quick shower before emerging dressed in a pair of his track pants and an oversized hoodie. She looked twelve, but without the remnants of makeup and her hair pulled back out of her face, he thought she was even more beautiful than ever.

“Ugh, stop looking at me like you like me. Go get ready before I pass out. I have low blood sugar, you know.”

“No, you don’t, or I would know. But I’m going.”

Bailey did exactly as she’d commanded. He peed, brushed his teeth, and got dressed. And he didn’t think about Logan penetrating him once. Okay, well, once. But that was it. Besides, he’d never be able to look the guy in the eye again after what he’d done last night.

And it wasn’t like he’d ever see Logan again, because Bailey certainly wasn’t brave enough to call him. And if Logan hadn’t found anything by now, Bailey was a hundred percent sure he wouldn’t hear from him.

Plus, no matter what Ashley said, Logan had not been checking him out. He was being nice to Bailey because of the circumstances. That was it.

Logan was a very nice man… who happened to set Bailey’s loins on fire. But that didn’t change the fact that he wasn’t interested in penetrating Bailey with anything more than his super-seductive eyes. Bailey’s cock twitched, and he glared down at it.

“Cut it out.”

“Bailey, come on! I’m starving.”

Right. Brunch.

He grabbed his backpack off the floor by the couch and thumped his way down the stairs. Ashley took one look at his makeshift door-stopper and pulled him into a hug. She sniffed and squeezed him tight. “You’re very sweet, even when you’re cranky.”

Bailey huffed and pushed her away. No way was he going to let her get emotional on him this early in the morning. “And here I thought you were going to make fun of me. Look at me, mighty protector of womenfolk with my trusty broom handle.”

Ashley poked him in the forehead. Hard.

“Ow!”

“Don’t be stupid or I will shove that broom handle where the sun doesn’t shine.”

Bailey flinched. “Yikes, visual much?”

“Yeah, well, I don’t like it when you say crap like that. I know you don’t think we’re really friends, and that I’m going to, I don’t know, run off to Broadway or something, but Bails—I’m not an idiot. I get the lead roles in a community theater production, and then only because there isn’t a lot of competition. And don’t say I’m talented. I know I’m talented. But so are a thousand other girls. That’s why I also got my degree in accounting, which
