I grab my wallet and stalk down the hallway. We enter a master bedroom first. A king-sized bed with a canopy dominates one wall, a matching chest of drawers and dresser across from it. There’s a small corner style writing desk in one corner and a potted plant in another. The color scheme of yellow is feminine, but it’s subtle and not overly done.
Spying the bathroom, I head that way. Eve flips the lights on when we pass through the door. The room is massive, nearly as big as the bedroom. I whistle.
“This bathroom is the reason I bought this place,” Eve supplies.
“I can understand why.”

Grabbing the brush from my hand, she dips it inside the bottle and proceeds to finish my toenails for me. “And why haven’t you told me about him yourself?”
I rest my chin on my bent knee. “He was just a guy. It wasn’t a big deal.”
Her eyes lift to mine, brow arching. “Not a big deal? When was the last time you got hot between the sheets?”
“Terry,” I answer honestly, sticking my toes in the UV nail dryer and scooting my other foot over for her to paint. “But it’s not for lack of trying.”
“So, how was it?”
“Yes, do tell,” Nikki adds, plopping down on the bed and tearing open a bag of chips. “Please tell me your weekend was better than mine. My redhead was a major dud in the sack.”

“He’s not your husband yet,” she says with a laugh, stuffing the pillow under her chest so she’s leaning on it.
“He will be in a few days. So, we’re practically married.” She caps the nail polish while I stick my other foot under the light. “Are you going to see this guy again?”
