His Runaway Mate (Unexpected Mates #4) - Brea Alepou Page 0,33

closer toward Logan, and the heat wafting off his body was a balm to Logan’s nerves.

“How are you feeling?” Indigo asked.

Logan glanced up, catching Indigo’s gaze. The corners of Logan’s mouth tilted up in a smile. “Better, thank you.”

Indigo smiled brightly at him. “No need to thank me. I will do any and everything I can for you.”

The truth in his words was like a wake-up slap to Logan. He cleared his throat and asked the one question that had been troubling him. Well, one of the many questions.

“I know we —” Come on, Logan, you’re a damn adult. “I know we fooled around and obviously there is some attraction there, but you were married to a woman. Do you have any, you know, problems that your fated mate is a male?” Logan rushed out the words so fast he felt a little light-headed. He glanced away, afraid to look into Indigo’s eyes. “Although I guess I should have asked you that way before we even, well, you know.”

Indigo laughed, and Logan turned back to glare at him.

“Is that the question you wanted to ask me the other day?” Indigo asked.

Logan huffed out a breath. “Maybe.”

Indigo crowded closer to Logan, forcing him to tilt his head back to keep eye contact. Logan’s heart skipped a beat as he stood there in anticipation.

“I’m bisexual. The fact that my mate is a male doesn’t bother me even a little bit. I’ve been bi all my life, and Teagan knew that as well.”

Logan opened his mouth and shut it promptly. He didn’t know what he’d expected, but the admission filled him with a sense of peace.

“Okay,” Logan finally said.

Indigo raised a brow. “Just okay?”

Logan mulled it over in his head. “I’m pretty sure we can throw you a bi party if you want.”

Indigo huffed out a deep chuckle that Logan wanted to bottle up and keep all to himself.

“Yeah, and do I get presents at this party?”

A laugh bubbled up out of Logan. “Sure, what kind of present would you like?”

Indigo lowered his head down, and their lips were a breath apart. Logan held his breath, hoping Indigo would close the gap. The toe-curling kiss from a few days ago was a memory that Logan was dying to repeat.

“If I say you, will you wrap yourself in a pretty bow for me?” Indigo asked in that sultry voice that had Logan’s cock hardening in seconds.

Logan bit his lip. “Oh, what color ribbon were you thinking?”

Indigo’s cobalt-blue eyes danced with humor. “I think you would look good in any color, Bean.”

Will not come in pants. Logan repeated the words a few times in his head.

“You don’t have a favorite color?” Logan asked with a smirk.

Indigo leaned more into him, pressing him up against a wall. The danger of embarrassing himself was all too real, and yet Logan had no desire to end the moment.

“Careful there, Bean, it almost sounds like you want to get to know me better.”

Logan licked his lips. “You do lie in my bed. I at least should know your favorite color.” Fuck, he was playing with fire and loved every second of it. Especially when Indigo’s pupils dilated.

“I can do more than lie there,” Indigo promised.

Logan’s breathing picked up, and he was quickly losing his train of thought. “You sure?” Logan practically whispered.

“Need me to prove it?” Indigo asked, matching Logan’s tone.

Logan couldn’t take it. He erased the last little bit of distance, and their lips crashed in a heated kiss that made him moan. God, it was even better than he remembered. He fisted Indigo’s shirt and pulled him taut against him. Indigo’s hands went around him and grabbed his ass, squeezing them and drawing more moans of pleasure from Logan’s mouth. They pulled apart, both of their breathing erratic.

“My favorite color is green,” Indigo said.

Logan almost said “what?” until he remembered the question he’d asked. “Oh, that’s a good color.”

Indigo chuckled. “Glad you approve.” He kissed Logan again, and once more Logan was lost to the sheer pleasure of kissing his mate. He knew right then and there he couldn’t keep denying the man.

Indigo pulled back. “We can continue this tonight?”

Logan knew a part of him should say no, but that wasn’t happening. His mind tried convincing him that he should protect his heart, and maybe he should, but for that second, he wanted to let his heart lead the way.

“Okay, I’d like that.”

Indigo smiled, and Logan was glad he’d let his heart speak. Indigo gave him another
