His Human (The New Neighbors #2) - M.A. Innes Page 0,6
fantasies come true. I saw the look on his face.”
We’d all met for dinner a few weeks ago, and Cameron hadn’t even needed to point out the waiter he’d told me about. The kid had practically fallen all over himself to make sure we were seated in his section.
Cameron grinned. “George likes teasing him.”
“I bet.” What kind of sacrifice would I have to make to get a waiter like that tonight?
There was an ancient god for everything. I was starting to think we should bring some of them back. Maybe if we had more sacrificial alters and fewer coffee shops, it wouldn’t be so hard to find a soul mate.
Cameron didn’t even bother asking how I would feel about Maverick using me to tease someone like that. He might be the sexy butch guy who could handle everything at work, but I was kinkier, and I couldn’t wait to see what Maverick would think about that.
But considering he’d been basically jerking me off in the grocery store parking lot, I was pretty sure I didn’t have anything to worry about.
Heading back over to the closet, I slipped on low-heeled boots. “What do you think?”
I was wearing all black, but I thought I looked sexy and open-minded, not off-putting or standoffish.
He chuckled. “Once you take off those tags, he’s not going to know what hit him.”
“Oh no, if anyone’s getting spanked tonight it’s going to be me.” I couldn’t help grinning as I headed into the bathroom to finish getting ready. I had a date with a guy who was guaranteed not to be an asshole or on the run from the cops…he was at least mildly kinky…and had made it clear he didn’t want to be stood up.
It was going to be fabulous.
Chapter 3
Trip
“I’m going to get spanked.”
Hopefully.
“I’m gonna get laid.”
Kind of.
“I’m going to get felt up in public.”
Fingers crossed.
The dirty words chanted to a sing-song rhythm had me wiggling excitedly in the car as I pulled up to the restaurant. As I parked, I forced myself to take a deep breath and attempted to look somewhat sane. There was nothing I could do about how enthusiastic I felt, but at the very least, the other humans didn’t need to know I was so excited I was ready to pee in my pants.
But Maverick would know.
No matter how calm I looked and how laid-back my smile would be, he’d know I was achingly hard and ready to bounce around the room like one of those little balls that went nuts when someone threw it.
The fact that he’d know and no one else would was an even bigger turn-on.
I just wasn’t sure how he would feel about that. He certainly hadn’t minded teasing me in public once he knew how I was reacting, but I hoped that continued during dinner. He seemed nice, but sometimes guys got more formal once you agreed to the first date.
But that wouldn’t happen with Maverick, right?
No.
Reminding myself George hadn’t changed with Cameron made me feel a bit better, but there were still so many questions running through my head, I couldn’t relax.
I was going to enjoy the dinner and the fascinating company, and I wasn’t going to think about the future. That would take care of itself. I was just going to concentrate on tonight and getting to know my date. My wicked date, hopefully.
It’d been ages since anyone had teased me in public and pushed the limits. I didn’t want to be arrested or piss off anyone, but the thrill and just a bit of dirty fun was wonderful. But fuck, most men had been very well-behaved lately.
It was almost painful.
Most guys either saw me as an airhead twink they couldn’t treat like an equal outside of the bedroom or they were painfully vanilla. Neither trait was appreciated, but the vanilla was probably worse.
But I wasn’t going to have that problem with Maverick.
Giving myself one last mental boost, I turned off the car and headed toward the front of the building. Just as I started to worry that I hadn’t seen Maverick, he came from the other side of the parking lot.
Relief surged through me, followed by arousal as I thought back to the scene in the grocery store parking lot. The questions hadn’t faded from my mind, but as he walked closer, still wearing the same teasing expression from earlier, they didn’t seem as important.
If I had to guess, I’d have said he was excited I was there and eager to get back
