His Human (The New Neighbors #2) - M.A. Innes Page 0,19
me to his chest. “Thank you, my little human.”
Nuzzling my face against his chest, I smiled. “I had fun. Thank you for letting me try to make you happy too.”
“The sensations were wonderful.” The new position let him stroke down my back and over my ass, so I just relaxed into him as he caressed me. “But I want you to understand that I get an undefinable amount of what you would call pleasure just being able to touch you and arouse you.”
“I don’t want to be selfish.” It felt very uneven to me.
“I have read enough about your domination-based relationships to understand you have a need to serve, but our physiology is very different. I do not want you to feel as if our relationship is one-sided if I do not get the sexual pleasure you do out of a situation.”
He huffed, sounding frustrated, and his limbs tightened again. “I do not have the human words to explain how we feel about domination, but please understand I will not be unfulfilled.”
“But you’ll tell me if there’s something you want?” Lifting my head to see his face wasn’t an option, so I settled on pressing a kiss to his chest. “I can’t read you the same way you can read me.”
I got another hug before he relaxed his grip and started stroking my back again. “Yes, my little human, I will let you know if there is anything that would please me.”
Feeling more relaxed about the situation, I nodded and snuggled against him.
“But what pleases me most is your submission and obedience, my little human.” There was something teasing about his voice, but we both knew how true that was, so I had to fight the urge to laugh.
I had a feeling he was going to use that against me to try to win any argument. If I wasn’t careful, I was going to end up in bubble wrap just because he said it made him happy.
Yep, I definitely owed Cameron an apology.
“Master?” While we were talking about things that made us happy, kind of, I had a question.
“Yes?” He relaxed his hold and inched me back enough that he could see my face.
“Will you stay the night with me?” There was something about the question that made me want to squirm. It wasn’t like we’d just fallen asleep after sex and he’d accidentally stayed over. I wanted him with me. I just hoped he understood the significance of my asking.
“Yes, if that is what you want.” He smiled as he stroked over my head. “I understand your culture of dating suggests I should not force myself into your space until we are both further along in the relationship, but—”
I shook my head, interrupting. “No, you’re not forcing me or even being pushy. This is something I want.”
I just didn’t know why, and I wasn’t going to overanalyze it.
Maverick nodded. “Then I shall stay the night with you.”
For some reason it all felt huge, like we’d just hit the point in the movie where we knew everything was about to change. But I pushed away the odd sensation and told myself not to be dramatic. Maverick was sleeping over, not shackling me to the bed.
Although that could be fun…but because of George I knew better than to even tease about it. It was great when your best friend figured shit out first and all you had to do was follow what they’d done.
I would’ve been content to cuddle while he kept me trapped, but when he abruptly stood up, I knew that wasn’t the plan. Before I could even suck in a breath, he was holding me in his arms and studying the house.
“Where is your personal space, my little human? You require a shower before you sleep.” Something about the take-charge way he said that sent a shiver through me. Maverick chuckled and gave my ass a firm pat that sent a wave of pleasure-pain through me.
“Do not get distracted. You need to be cleaned up.” He was right. I was kind of sticky, even though he’d done his best to fix me up.
Pointing was out of the question…I was still stuck…so I looked over his shoulder. “Up those stairs.”
I had to close my eyes as he carried me up the stairs. Even though he had so many limbs I’d never fall, it was still an odd sensation. I must have responded in some way Maverick could read because he stopped halfway up. “Are you feeling anxious?”
I nodded…carefully. “Yes,
