Up for Heir - Stella Starling Page 0,75
spoil you”—things that still weren’t “I love you,” but that felt like they might be enough to make a happily ever after out of anyway—it was painfully tempting to let himself believe that he might be wrong. That maybe it didn’t have to end at all. That maybe… maybe he could really have everything he’d never let himself dream of before.
“Eddie?” Leo asked sharply. “Darling. Are you crying?”
“No,” Edvin whispered, sniffling again and trying to convince himself he hadn’t just lied to his prince. But “crying” implied something sad, and this wasn’t that. It was just an overflow of excessively emotional moisture, a side effect of all the things threatening to overflow Edvin’s heart.
His phone chimed, and Edvin pulled it away from his face to see that Leo had initiated a FaceTime call. He dashed at his eyes, then stabbed at the button to accept.
“Eddie,” Leo said, his eyes searching Edvin’s face as soon as the video feed went live. “Are you feeling… rushed? Was it because I brought up marriage? If this is all happening too quickly for you—”
“What?” Edvin blurted, suddenly scared that he’d messed it all up. That Leo was about to take the engagement off the table. “N-N-No. I… I want to marry you. I do. I wouldn’t have said yes if I didn’t—erm, I m-m-mean, I g-g-guess I didn’t actually say yes because you didn’t actually ask, which is fine, of course, but… but I would have, if you had, and… and I am. I mean, yes? Or… or no, actually. S-S-Sorry, I got the question wrong. Um, but no, it’s not… n-n-not too rushed for me. I want to marry you, Leo. Do you, um, do you want to marry me, too?”
Oh… shizzle. Had he really just asked Leo that? He snapped his mouth closed in a desperate attempt to stop the mortifying flood of words, but it was too late. It had almost sounded like Edvin was the one proposing.
Before he could melt into a puddle of pure embarrassment, though, Leo gave him one of those slow, sexy smiles that—holy tenting pajama pants—even through the crappy quality of the video feed, instantly turned the heat of Edvin’s raging blush into a different kind of heat completely. The kind that made his breath catch and his spine tingle and a distinctly needy whimper escape his mouth before he could stop it.
The sound made Leo’s smile turn positively wicked. “Yes,” he said in a low purr that made Edvin want to crawl right through the phone and straddle him. “I do want to marry you, Eddie.”
“O-Okay,” Edvin said, feeling breathless and captivated and far too turned on for someone who still had to wait two more days before straddling was a viable option.
“In fact,” Leo went on, his eyes filling with heat, “there are quite a few things I want to do with you. Most of which, unfortunately, will have to wait until I have you in my bed on Sunday.”
Edvin made a far too needy sound that he probably should have been embarrassed by, clutching the phone even tighter as Leo’s words sent a tingling wave of excitement rolling through his body. And not just from the thought of being in his prince’s bed again, but the fact that Leo had said… well, he’d implied, at least, that… that maybe he actually wanted to… to not wait on some of those things?
“Only… only most of them?” Edvin whispered with a furtive glance toward his locked door, one hand somehow making its way down to rest on top of his… well, on top of David Tennant. “Is there, um, i-i-is there something you wanted to… wanted to do with me r-r-right now, Leo?”
Oh Lord. Edvin’s face immediately flamed with heat. He could not believe he’d just asked that. But Leo just gave him a wickedly hot version of his usual sexy smile and said—
“Yes.”
Yes?
Oh Lord. Yes.
Edvin sucked in a sharp breath, his hand closing convulsively around the outline of his swelling shaft just in time to avoid embarrassing himself… not, however, in time to keep his hips from thrusting up and pushing his length through his tight grip as the thought of Leo doing things—anything, all the things, all the time—had him biting back more of those needy whimpers that he would have been disastrously embarrassed about if having Leo’s hot gaze on him wasn’t making him far too horny to care.
But then he forced himself to be still, because… because he was really hoping
