“You should do that. You should explain exactly what you want, and what not having her is doing to you. If she understands the importance of your need to bond with her, perhaps she will comply,” Quin said with a huge smile. “She is seeing things as they would have pertained to her former life on Earth. They just aren’t applicable any longer. Make her see that. But not right away,” Quin said thoughtfully. “I’ll need your assistance on the Command Deck if this development with Lo'San is what I think it is. Lo'San will need to be given his time to bond properly.”

Ba Re’ scrubbed a hand down his face and watched another of his shipmates claim his female. “I’ll do what I can. And perhaps you’re right. I should just sit her down and explain what her insistence at keeping me away from her is doing to me. I’d thought to allow her time to come to me willingly, but I do not know how much more of this I can take.”

“Communicate with your female,” Quin suggested, laying a hand on Ba Re’s shoulder.

Ba Re’ nodded. “How did you become so understanding?”

Quin smiled. “My Vivi. She is very perceptive, and I am learning.”

Quin turned and looked at the monitors again. “Where did Lo'San go?” he asked, looking for Lo'San and Synclare on the dance floor and then at the table Lo'San had been standing near earlier.

“They’re gone. He left the club with Synclare in his arms,” Ba Re’ answered.

“He is supposed to be watching Vivi!” Quin said irritatedly. “Wait… he’s back,” Quin said watching the screen again. “What is he…” Quin started to ask, watching Lo'San standing in the doorway to the club and speaking to someone. He watched as Rokai answered, then took up a protective stance beside the dance floor as Vivi and Rosie both glared at him, while he grinned in response.

“It would seem Lo'San has just asked Rokai to guard Vivi in his absence,” Ba Re’ commented.

Quin sighed, and sat back in his chair. “Vivi is going to be angry,” he said, resigning himself to the fact that his secret effort to watch over her through Lo'San had been revealed.

Chapter 4

Lo'San strode to the lift that would take him to the residential floor and his quarters. He wore a smile, and rumbled a purr-like sound the entire time. Synclare had her arms around his neck, her face tucked into the crook of his neck, and he loved it. She didn’t let him go or change her position the entire time he carried her to his quarters. And he in turn held her tightly, securely in his arms.

He paused in front of his quarters long enough to tighten his arm where it looped beneath her, keeping Synclare secure against his body, then reached out with his other arm to allow the sensor next to his door to scan his hand to confirm his identity and grant them access. He stepped into his quarters and set Synclare on her feet.

“This space is assigned to me. It is small, and sparse. I’ve never needed much. But I make a promise to you now that I will provide you with better quarters. You will have luxury such as Vivi and Elisha have. You will not have to make do in this small space.”

Synclare did not look around the room as she turned toward him, her eyes were only for Lo'San. Though she now stood in front of him, she had not released her hold on him. “I’m not concerned about any of that. All I want is to be yours.”

Lo'San looked down at her and smiled gently before lowering his lips to hers again. “You have made me the proudest of males,” he admitted before kissing her.

Synclare smiled shyly at Lo'San after he kissed her innocently. “I’ve wanted you to make me yours for so long now. I wasn’t sure what I’d done to make you lose interest. I was so mistaken,” she admitted.

“Why didn't you tell me?” Lo'San asked, stroking her cheek with his thumb as he gazed into her eyes, still awestruck that she’d accepted him, and claimed him as hers.

Synclare gave a half shrug. “It’s just not my way. I’m not that forward. I figured if you wanted me, you’d have to let me know. The other males all wander around growling ‘mine’ with no hesitation. So, I thought after the first few times we spent together, you must have decided you weren't sure you
