Hate to Date You (Dating #4) - Monica Murphy Page 0,73
I don’t know if she can come again, but I’m right on the edge. Have been about ten minutes in of licking her pussy. This is what she does to me. Makes me want her all the time. I can’t stop thinking about her when I’m at work. I anticipate coming home, finding her waiting for me with a smile on her face. She’ll grab me a beer and let me talk about my day, and then I do the same for her. She tells me about some of the weird customers that come into Sweet Dreams, and I tell her about Jolene and the rest of the people I work with.
I was going to tell her all about her grandmother coming in, and how we’ve set up an appointment for me to show her some condos. That’s why I ended up staying late at work. I got caught up searching for different developments and creating a list. Considering it’s Saturday night and I’m not working tomorrow, I figured I could make some calls first thing Monday and have some appointments set up for Grace on Tuesday when we meet.
But I can’t worry about that now. I’ll tell her later. While we’re eating my favorite pizza and she’ll have to admit that she likes it.
I know she will.
“Well?” I ask. We’re actually sitting at the dining table, something we never do. The pizza box is open between us, and Stella is currently nibbling on her piece of barbecue chicken pizza, her upper lip curled, her brows wrinkled. “What do you think?”
“It’s…not bad.” She contemplates the pizza for a moment before she takes a big bite, chewing thoughtfully. “This combo shouldn’t work.”
I take a giant bite. Then another. I finish the slice off with the third. “But it does, am I right?” I ask after I swallow.
“I suppose.” Her tone is reluctant, and she takes another bite. “Eating this was worth the trade, let me tell you.”
Chuckling, I grab my bottle of beer and take a swig. “I aim to please.”
“You do it very, very well.” A secret smile curves her pretty mouth, and I can’t help myself.
Leaning in, I drop a quick kiss on her lips. “You still got that lacy thing on?”
“Under your sweatshirt.” She threw on my hoodie before she came out from the bedroom after the delivery guy left, and the sweatshirt dwarfs her completely. She looks damn sexy in it too, but when does she not? She could be wearing a paper bag and I’d probably think she was the most gorgeous woman I’ve ever seen.
“Good,” I say, grabbing another slice. “I like it.”
We eat in companionable silence for a few minutes.
“Something crazy happened to me today,” she starts.
“Really? I have a story for you too,” I tell her.
“You go first,” she says.
“No, you go.”
“Well.” She leans in closer, her eyes sparkling, a smile dancing at the corner of her lips. “My father told me my grandmother is giving me—her house! Can you believe it?”
Whoa. That was unexpected. “The house in Carmel?”
“Duh. It’s the only house she currently owns.” Stella reaches into the box and takes another slice out. See, she does like it. I knew she would. “My father said she’s going to buy a condo for sure, and she wants me to keep the house. Doesn’t matter what my cousins or my aunts and uncles want, or even my parents or my brothers. Nonna says the house belongs to me.”
“That’s a very generous gift.”
“My cousins and everyone else will probably get cold hard cash, so maybe they’re the luckier ones?” She chomps on her pizza, a dreamy expression on her face. “I don’t know. I’m just happy she’s giving it to me. When I was a little girl, it was my favorite place to go. It’s still one of my favorite places.”
“She must know how much you love it.”
“I think so. We were very close when I was young. We still are. I was the only granddaughter who lived nearby. The rest of my family is in the Bay Area or Southern California,” she explains, grabbing her bottle of water and taking a sip. “What did you have to tell me?”
“Well, it has to do with your grandmother.” She sends me a curious look and I continue. “She came into my office earlier and asked me to find some condos for her.”
“Are you going to help her?”
“Of course. That’s why I stayed at work late. I was checking out listings I thought would appeal
