Girls Night - Yolanda Olson Page 0,155

October, October into November, and November into December. We’re officially on Winter Break, and in just two days, we’ll be going back home to Charlotte to spend Christmas with our families. What they don’t know is that Jules and I far exceed best friends at this point.. My parents won’t be surprised in the slightest, Ma always used to say I had a thing for Jules despite how much I denied it, but I’m worried about what Jules’ parents will think. To their knowledge, their daughter is a straight female. Now she’s going to come home from college with a girlfriend in place of her bestie. They’re both loving, very open-minded people, and I know they believe everyone is free to love who they love, but still, it’s nerve wracking.

Jules, though? She doesn’t seem the least bit fearful about coming out of the closet, a closet I don’t think anyone ever expected her to come out of, myself included. The only reason why she hasn’t mentioned to them we’re dating yet is because she wanted to wait for the holidays to do it, so I respected her wishes and shut my mouth.

The one thing we definitely won’t be telling anyone? What happened that night at the manor. That’s a secret we promised to take to the grave. I mean, I… I killed someone in cold blood. Just thinking about it threatens to ruin me. Did he deserve it after what he did to me? Yes. But I never thought I could actually take someone’s life. I’m still having flashbacks about it, especially since we haven’t been able to figure out who those masked people are. Sometimes I even wake up in a cold sweat, panting for air, but having Jules beside me to shush me back to sleep has been a godsend. I don’t think I’d make it through or be able to navigate my emotions without her.

That’s the perk of falling in love with your best friend. They know you, know what soothes you...

“Babe!” she calls from the kitchen. “What do you want for dinner tonight?”

“That bomb ass pussy!” I yell from the bed.

Since making things official, we threw the two dorm beds together to make one big bed.

Less than five seconds later, she appears at the threshold with that face, her lips curled and all. “That’s not what I meant and you know it.”

“Yeah, but that’s definitely what I meant, sooo why don’t you bring your fine ass over here and let me have my dinner?” Waggling my eyebrows, I drop my phone and pat the empty space beside me.

I’m expecting her to say no, to simply waltz back into the kitchen to figure out what we’re gonna eat without my help, but she literally dives for the bed, landing on her stomach.

“Oh, fuck yes.” I literally drag her on top of me, palms sliding down her back to her ass.

“For the record, I consider myself dessert, not dinner,” she coos, fusing our mouths together.

“Considering how long you’ve known me, you should already know I prefer dessert before dinner anyway, so this works out perfectly. Take these off,” I mumble against her lips, tugging the band of her leggings.

Shaking her head, she eases back on my lap with those heavy-lidded eyes. I fucking love this view...especially when she’s bare. “Dinner first, then you can keep me in bed for the rest of the night.”

“You’re a damn tease, you know that?”

Jules nods and proceeds to rip off her top in the most taunting way possible. With no bra in the way, her tits drop freely as she throws the shirt somewhere behind her and drapes herself over me once more. “Yuppp, but we both know damn well that’s why you love me.”

She’s not lying. I do love her. I just haven’t told her yet. I was gonna wait until Christmas, but you know what they say; when the opportunity presents itself, take it. “You’re right, I do love you.”

Silence, a solid painstaking minute of silence passes before she says a word. You’d think she’d be used to it by now, we’ve always said we love each other, but it hits different now, means more than it did back then.

“Are you saying you’re in love with me?” she whispers, dropping her forehead to mine

“I am,” I vow, threading my hands into her hair. “I’m so completely and utterly in love with you, I can’t imagine a life without you now.”

Her expression softens, cheeks heating that adorable shade of pink. “Good thing I don’t plan to go anywhere then, huh?”

I nod. “Even if you did, I wouldn’t let you go. You’re mine now, Jules. You’re stuck with me.”

“I wouldn’t want to be stuck with anyone else,” she counters, running a finger down my cheek, “because I love you, too, Kai—yesterday, today, tomorrow, and always.”
